Lars Sullivan didn’t need a 20-year wrestling career to build one of the most chaotic reputations in WWE history. Between racist and homophobic internet posts, sexually explicit comments about Stephanie McMahon, male-on-male porn, a $100,000 WWE fine, unwanted DMs, accusations of threatening a woman and years of social-media attacks, “The Freak” somehow created enough controversy for several careers.
And the craziest part is that a lot of this happened before Sullivan ever became a major WWE star. Once fans started digging into his past, every new discovery seemed to open another door that probably should have stayed shut.
Long before WWE fans knew Dylan Miley as Lars Sullivan, he was posting on bodybuilding message boards under names including “Disenfranchised” and “Elperfecto.” Those accounts eventually became a disaster after fans uncovered years of comments involving race, homosexuality, women and other wrestlers, with Sullivan’s old bodybuilding forum posts eventually exploding into a major WWE controversy.
Sullivan didn’t exactly hide where his head was at during those discussions. In one resurfaced post, he openly argued that racist, sexist and homophobic material could be funny under the right circumstances.
“Homophobia, racism, sexism, these are all hilarious things to make light of in the right environment.”
That was just the appetizer. Sullivan also joked about Steve Austin’s domestic violence case involving Debra, took shots at Jeff Hardy over his drug history and made steroid accusations about Bobby Lashley. He even posted racial material involving Black men and white women, which became part of the massive collection of old posts fans began circulating while WWE was trying to push him as a monster heel.
Then came the Stephanie McMahon stuff. Years before Sullivan worked for WWE, he was posting sexually explicit comments about the daughter of Vince McMahon and wife of Triple H. Sullivan’s old comments about Stephanie McMahon included one particularly blunt reaction to a video of her.
“Very sexy, Thanks for the fap vid.”
Sullivan also discussed an old Stephanie McMahon appearance on Howard Stern and went into sexual details about her relationship with Triple H. That meant WWE eventually hired a guy whose internet history included openly discussing masturbating to one of the most powerful executives in the company.
WWE eventually decided enough was enough. The company hit Sullivan with a massive $100,000 fine in 2019 and ordered him to undergo sensitivity training. WWE later clarified that Sullivan’s punishment covered the broader issue surrounding his offensive online history, making it one of the biggest publicly known disciplinary fines handed to a WWE talent in years. Most wrestlers would probably pray that a six-figure fine was the lowest point of the story. Sullivan somehow had another bombshell waiting.
Fans later discovered that before his WWE career, Sullivan had performed in explicit adult films under the name Mitch Bennett. Those videos included male-on-male sexual scenes, and Sullivan’s adult-film past quickly became public once fans connected “Mitch Bennett” to the future WWE Superstar.
There was nothing wrong with Sullivan taking part in consensual adult work, and the videos do not establish anything about his sexual orientation. What made the discovery explode was the fact that the same man had already been exposed for years of homophobic comments online.
That contradiction was basically gasoline on a fire. As the videos began spreading, searches for Sullivan and “Mitch Bennett” shot through the roof. Sullivan then disappeared from Twitter and locked down his Instagram, with his social-media shutdown coming right as the adult-film material resurfaced.
The adult-film history also wasn’t exactly some gigantic secret inside WWE by the end of his run. When Sullivan was released, Ringside News learned people backstage were aware of his homoerotic entertainment past, even if it wasn’t exactly something being discussed around catering.
Then Sullivan returned to WWE television in 2020 and almost immediately found himself in another mess. A married woman named Annika Naidoo-Fuge confirmed that Sullivan had contacted her through Instagram and eventually began hinting that he wanted to purchase photos from her. The woman publicly confirmed Sullivan’s unsolicited messages and said she eventually blocked him after the conversation went in a direction she clearly wasn’t interested in.
That controversy landed at a brutal time because WWE had just brought Sullivan back after a long absence. Instead of people talking about his in-ring return, fans were once again discussing what he was doing away from the ring. WWE eventually released Sullivan in 2021, but losing his wrestling job did not magically make the wild headlines disappear.
In 2024, a female spa owner accused Sullivan of calling her business and leaving a profanity-filled threatening voicemail after she had previously blocked him on Instagram. The spa owner claimed Sullivan threatened and insulted her during a series of phone interactions, although those claims remain allegations made by the woman rather than independently proven facts.
She claimed she called the number back after hearing the voicemail and Sullivan continued going off on her. According to her account, he used degrading language toward women and made threats during the exchange.
Then his old adult-film history came roaring back. When a fan brought up Sullivan’s porn past in 2025, Sullivan didn’t ignore it or laugh it off. He instead fired back by attacking the fan’s weight and calling him a disgrace.
“How much do you weigh fatass? Lol. You’re a disgrace.”
By that point, Sullivan wasn’t wrestling, but he had clearly found another arena to fight in. Social media. One of his favorite targets became Big E. Sullivan dug up Big E’s past comments supporting Black Lives Matter and accused the former WWE Champion of being anti-white. He later deleted one of those attacks after calling out Big E’s support for the movement, but the ugliest Big E post was still ahead.
In June 2026, Sullivan crossed a line that got even more personal. Big E suffered a fractured neck during a WWE match in March 2022, an injury that kept him out of the ring for years. Sullivan decided to turn that real-life injury into ammunition and claimed Big E breaking his neck was “karma”.
“Big e is an anti white racist. His neck break was karma :)”
Yeah, he actually hit send. Sullivan then doubled down instead of backing away. His follow-up posts dragged Pete Dunne, George Floyd and Black Lives Matter into the argument, keeping the entire controversy alive instead of letting his first disgusting remark disappear into the timeline.
Sami Zayn eventually landed in Sullivan’s sights too. When fans were upset about Zayn losing the WWE Championship in 2026, Sullivan mocked his supporters and claimed that only Muslims and “virgins on Reddit” wanted to see Sami Zayn.
“Only muslims and virgins on reddit do, actually.”
That wasn’t some isolated Islam-related cheap shot either. Sullivan later jumped into controversy surrounding Dustin Rhodes and openly declared that it was “ok to be islamophobic”. He followed that up with sweeping claims about Muslim immigration, Sharia law, violence and extremism, making it very clear he wasn’t interested in cleaning up the kind of rhetoric that had already gotten him hammered years earlier.
Then things got even uglier during a WNBA controversy involving Enes Kanter Freedom. While defending Kanter online, Sullivan went on a tear that included racist comparisons involving a Black woman, transphobic language and an ableist slur. Sullivan’s posts during the Enes Kanter Freedom controversy included racist and transphobic attacks aimed at people pushing back on him.
He apparently still had more people to go after. AEW star Nyla Rose became another target after she discussed discrimination she said she experienced as a transgender wrestler. Instead of debating her point, Sullivan attacked Rose by calling her an “angry, miserable old man”.
That response had nothing to do with wrestling and everything to do with targeting Rose’s gender identity. Then wrestling journalist David Bixenspan entered the picture.
On September 16, 2026, Sullivan posted a photo of Bixenspan and slapped an ableist insult on top of it. Sullivan’s attack on David Bixenspan came completely out of nowhere on his public timeline.
“David bixenspan is developmentally retarded.”
There was some pretty interesting history there too. Bixenspan was the journalist who pushed WWE for clarification about Sullivan’s $100,000 fine back in 2019. Sullivan never explained whether that history had anything to do with his 2026 attack, so connecting the two would be speculation, but he deleted the Bixenspan post by the next day without offering any apology or explanation.
Sullivan also jumped into politics and public figures with the same scorched-earth style. In September 2026, he accused Hunter Biden of being a “crackhead pedophile” without presenting evidence for the sexual-abuse accusation. Ringside News made clear Sullivan offered no evidence for the pedophilia claim, while Biden’s past struggles with drug addiction have been publicly documented.
Sullivan also blamed “snowflake democrats” when a planned September 11 memorial flyover was canceled in Denver. His response claimed people didn’t want to be reminded that radical Islam was responsible for the September 11 attacks, extending the same anti-Muslim rhetoric that had already shown up repeatedly on his account.
Even that wasn’t the end of it. On September 19, 2026, Sullivan went after a woman criticizing Israel over Gaza and told her to move to Gaza and convert to Islam. By this point, Sullivan’s timeline had basically become a conveyor belt of personal attacks, slurs and political rage.
That’s what makes the entire Lars Sullivan story so wild. WWE once saw a giant heavyweight who looked like he could be positioned as the next unstoppable monster. Instead, the company wound up with a guy whose old internet history forced them into a $100,000 punishment, whose past included explicit male-on-male porn that clashed spectacularly with his old homophobic posts, and whose name continued creating controversy long after WWE stopped sending him paychecks. And somehow, the post-WWE version of Lars Sullivan may be even more chaotic than the one WWE had to deal with.
The wrestling career faded away, but the controversies just kept piling up. Racist posts, homophobic comments, explicit gay sex scenes, Stephanie McMahon masturbation comments, unwanted DMs, alleged threats, Big E’s broken neck being called “karma,” attacks on Muslims, Nyla Rose, David Bixenspan and anyone else who happened to cross his timeline have left Sullivan with a legacy that has almost nothing to do with what he ever accomplished inside a wrestling ring.
