Lars Sullivan might be the latest example of why you should think twice before hitting “post.” Years before joining WWE, Sullivan was active on a bodybuilding message board under the username “Disenfranchised,” and what he wrote back then is now coming back to haunt him—again.
Fans already dug up some nasty stuff from the account, including racist jokes, a homophobic shot at NFL quarterback Philip Rivers, and even a weird classist jab at KFC calling it “lower class food.” But some of the most disturbing comments involved WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon—who also happens to be the daughter of Vince McMahon and the wife of Sullivan’s future NXT boss, Triple H. In one post reacting to a video of Stephanie, Sullivan wrote:
“Very sexy, Thanks for the fap vid.”
That account was banned not long after—reportedly due to a string of abusive posts. But there was more. When asked to elaborate on what Stephanie said during her old interview with Howard Stern, Sullivan didn’t hold back. He recalled some graphic details:
“She was a good sport and went along with the sexual answers Howard threw at her. It’s been several years since it aired but I remember her talking about getting it ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ from HHH. No anal ‘yet.’ And she’s completely shaven.”
It’s the kind of comment you’d expect from an internet troll—not someone who would eventually work for the family he was so openly sexualizing. The fact that he remembered these specifics—and posted them publicly—is wild enough. But the fact that this was about his boss’s wife and daughter of WWE’s chairman makes it even more outrageous.
Lars Sullivan has had controversies follow him throughout his time in wrestling, and these resurfaced posts are another reminder of just how messy his pre-WWE online behavior really was.
Do you think posts like this should permanently affect someone’s career—or should people be given the chance to move forward? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
