Roman Reigns Drops The OTC Act in Off-Air WWE RAW Moment With Fans

Roman Reigns Drops The OTC Act in Off-Air WWE RAW Moment With Fans

Roman Reigns gave the Columbus crowd something viewers at home did not get to see after WWE RAW went off the air on Monday night.

Following his tense contract signing with Jacob Fatu on the May 25 episode of RAW, Reigns stayed in the ring and addressed the fans inside the Schottenstein Center during an off-air moment tied to his 41st birthday.

Fans broke into loud “Happy Birthday” chants for The OTC, who dropped the fight talk for a few minutes and spoke about how difficult it can be when WWE storylines involve his own family. Reigns first thanked the crowd for making the night feel different, especially after spending the televised closing segment at odds with his cousin.

“Well, Columbus, you really know how to make your Tribal Chief feel special. You know it’s tough being in the WWE because it’s a family business. It’s hard to transition when you’re fighting with your family, so I just want to be grateful and have gratitude for all of you.”

The message got even more personal as Reigns spoke about his current place in life and how much the support from fans means to him.

“This ain’t bull**it. This is the real deal. Before I get out of here, man, it’s hard to describe this life. It’s hard to explain, and I just try to pray and be thankful every single day, man. This is the best. I hope everyone back there can feel the way I feel these days, but I feel like a lottery winner.”

Reigns then made it clear that he does not take those reactions for granted, whether they come on his birthday or during any other WWE appearance.

“And like anybody that’s doing well, there’s a lot of hard work, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t happen without y’all. So whether it’s my birthday, whether it’s a Monday, a Wednesday, a Sunday, it doesn’t matter. It’s a blessed day. I just want to say thank you, everybody. Please get home safe.”

The emotional speech came only moments after Reigns and Fatu made their World Heavyweight Championship match official for WWE Clash in Italy. During the RAW closing segment, Reigns told Fatu that if he loses their Tribal Combat match, Fatu can become the Head of the Table. If Fatu loses, Reigns said he will have to serve him and learn from him. WWE confirmed the contract signing as the final major confrontation between the two before their title fight.

Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Fatu in Tribal Combat at WWE Clash in Italy on Sunday, May 31, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. The show marks WWE’s first Premium Live Event in Italy.

For all the threats and family warfare WWE is building around Reigns and Fatu, this was a rare moment where the man behind The OTC let the crowd know exactly what the night meant to him. With Clash in Italy now days away, Reigns is heading into one of his most personal title defenses after sharing a side of himself fans never saw on Netflix.

The May 18 episode of WWE RAW went down at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. This was an important show, a go-home episode before Saturday Night’s Main event. They also had a lot to build toward Clash in Italy.

Jacob Fatu opened up the show this week. It didn’t take long for the Usos to come out. Then things escalated quickly and got physical.

Roman Reigns made his way out next, and then things popped off. A 3 on 1 attack left Jacob Fatu lying in the ring, catching his breath and looking angry.

Then Jacob Fatu grabbed the microphone and challenged Roman Reigns to a Tribal Combat match. It didn’t take Roman Reigns long to accept this matchup, and that upped the stakes in a big way.

Michael Cole noted on commentary that a match of that magnitude will likely take place at Clash in Italy. They didn’t outright announce when this Tribal Combat match is happening, but Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu are going to probably tear each other apart whenever they meet.

Footage Shows Roman Reigns Possibly Injured After Brutal RAW Attack

Roman Reigns may have left WWE RAW worse for wear after new footage surfaced showing him being checked on by medical staff following a brutal attack from Jacob Fatu.

The chaos took place during the May 11 episode of RAW in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Fatu put Reigns through a table during a violent segment that immediately became one of the biggest talking points of the night.

But things got even more interesting after RAW ended. Video footage circulating online showed Reigns being checked on by WWE medical staff while appearing to be in visible pain following the attack.

Reigns seemed to be favoring his left arm as he exited the arena with a towel wrapped around it. In the footage, he also appeared uncomfortable while walking out, which instantly fueled speculation online about whether the injury could be legitimate.

The moment immediately sent wrestling fans into debate mode because WWE has already started building toward Saturday Night’s Main Event later this month, and Reigns remains one of the company’s biggest attractions heading into the summer.

Bottom line: Roman Reigns may have walked out of RAW injured after Jacob Fatu’s attack, and with footage now showing WWE medical staff checking on him backstage, fans are suddenly wondering whether the table spot caused more damage than initially expected.

Roman Reigns Tells Jacob Fatu “This Is Your Last Night Here” After WWE Backlash

Roman Reigns sent a chilling message to Jacob Fatu after the chaos that closed out WWE Backlash.

After barely surviving Fatu in the World Heavyweight Championship main event, Reigns was attacked again once the match ended. Fatu repeatedly locked in the Tongan Death Grip, took out officials, and completely lost control after the bell.

As Reigns was walking backstage following the brawl, Cathy Kelley caught up with him to ask about the situation. Roman’s response immediately turned heads.

“Jacob doesn’t belong here. There is no order. This is your last night here.”

That final line instantly got fans talking online, especially because Reigns delivered it in a cold, serious tone while leaving the arena after the attack.

Whether Roman meant Jacob Fatu’s last night in WWE, the comment immediately became one of the biggest talking points coming out of Backlash. Even though Reigns retained the title, it’s clear the issues with Fatu are far from over.

Jacob Fatu Assaults Roman Reigns, Referee and WWE Officials After Backlash 2026 Loss

Backlash 2026 went down at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida. The main event all came down to Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu.

The two family members battled in front of a packed crowd, who chanted the entire match. “Let’s Go Jacob! and “OTC” chants rang out as the two started to feel each other out in the opening minutes. The two brawled around the ring, but then eventually returned to get back to business.

This match included Roman eating a powerbomb through the announce table, but then he got back in the ring and nailed a spear for a near fall. Roman tried for a second spear, but Fatu hit a Samoan Slam and a moonsault for a near fall.

The contest kept going, and Roman was locked in a Tongan Death Grip. The turnbuckle was ripped off, but then Roman Reigns nailed a spear to get the clean win and retain the title.

After the match was over, Jacob Fatu latched on the Tongan Death Grip once again. The referee tried to pry him off, and then the official ate a Samoan Slam from Fatu. WWE Officials ran down to break it up, but Jacob Fatu kicked a few of them, threw Adam Pearce out of the ring, and then latched on the Tongan Death Grip to Roman Reigns once again.
