Lars Sullivan has spent the past couple of weeks jumping into one political controversy after another on social media. His latest target wasn’t another wrestler—it was a fan commenting on the conflict in Gaza.
Sullivan has already become a topic of discussion several times this month. He blamed what he called “snowflake democrats” after a planned September 11 memorial flyover in Denver was canceled, arguing people didn’t want Americans reminded that Islamist extremists carried out the attacks. He also inserted himself into the Dustin Rhodes controversy by saying it was “ok to be islamophobic” before later sharing another post making broad claims about Muslim immigration.
Now he’s weighing in again. The latest controversy started after a fan took to Twitter and made it clear she was not happy about what’s been going on in Gaza and dropped an F-bomb on Israel.
“HAPPY FRIDAY to everyone who knows that bombing hospitals and starving children is not self-defense. F*** Israel.”
Sullivan didn’t let the post sit for long. Instead, he fired back with a one-line response of his own, as he told the fan to move to Gaza and just convert to Islam.
“Move to gaza and convert to islam since you love it so much.”
It’s another example of Sullivan using his Twitter account to comment on political and cultural issues instead of wrestling. Over the past several weeks, that’s become a regular theme on his page, with many of his posts focusing on Islam, immigration and current events rather than anything happening inside the ring.
Whether people agree with him or not, Sullivan’s latest reply has already started making the rounds online and is adding to the growing list of controversial posts that have followed him in recent weeks.
