Ric Flair is walking back the idea that he is suing his son, but he is still clearly not happy with David Flair.

After previously making it seem like David Flair and Green Flair Recycling were the target of his trademark warning, Ric took to Twitter and in a now-deleted tweet, clarified that he is not actually suing his son. However, he still told David that he cannot use the Flair name while staying distant from him.

“I’m Obviously Not Suing My Son. Just Reminding Him That You Can’t Have The Best Of Both Worlds!”

Flair then told David to either use the family’s real surname, Fliehr, or use his wife’s name instead. Ric also accused David of selling one of his robes after being allowed to use them during his wrestling career.

“Use Your God Given Name, Fliehr, Which Isn’t Worth A Cup Of Coffee. Or Your Wife’s Name, Who Has Had 3 Generations Of Success. Also, Please Don’t Sell My Robes That I Let You Use During Your Career As You Have Already Sold One. You’re 47 Years Old… Now Stand On Your Own Two Feet Please.”

This comes after Ric previously posted on Instagram that his relationship with David had been gone for nine years, while blaming David’s wife for their fractured bond.

“The Relationship Was Gone 9 Years Ago… I’m Sorry & Sad That It Has Come To This. I’ve Tried My Best To Fix Things Over The Years Only To Be Rejected Because Your Wife Runs Your Life.”

Before that, Flair posted a broader trademark warning on Twitter, saying someone familiar to him was using his “Flair” trademark and that he had a high-priced attorney ready if the issue wasn’t fixed.

“Unfortunately, There Is Someone That I’m Very Familiar With Using My Own Trademark FLAIR. I Would Like Anyone Who Is Using My Trademarks- Which Are Impossible To Own And I Own Mine, To Know That I’m Well Represented By A Reputable $1000 Per Hour Attorney That Makes A Living Suing People That Abuse My Trademark. You Know Who I’m Talking About. I Hope You Can Clear This Up By Monday, And If We Can’t Resolve This Issue, Read The Penalties.”

Flair’s latest post changes the legal tone of the story, but not the family tension. He says he is not suing David, yet he still made it clear he does not want his son benefiting from the Flair name while their relationship remains broken.
