Ric Flair is once again defending his intellectual property, and this time he’s openly threatening legal action against anyone who uses his name.
Flair took to Twitter and warned someone he claims is using one of his trademarks without authorization. While he did not directly name the individual, Flair made it clear he believes someone is improperly using the “Flair” name and said he is prepared to take the matter to court if it is not resolved quickly.
“Unfortunately, There Is Someone That I’m Very Familiar With Using My Own Trademark FLAIR. I Would Like Anyone Who Is Using My Trademarks- Which Are Impossible To Own And I Own Mine, To Know That I’m Well Represented By A Reputable $1000 Per Hour Attorney That Makes A Living Suing People That Abuse My Trademark.”
Flair then made it clear that he believes the person knows exactly who they are and set a deadline for the issue to be addressed: “You Know Who I’m Talking About. I Hope You Can Clear This Up By Monday, And If We Can’t Resolve This Issue, Read The Penalties.”
The Nature Boy included a screenshot of a Google search explaining the potential consequences of trademark infringement. The image referenced remedies that can include court injunctions, monetary damages, and recovery of lost profits.
The latest warning continues a dispute that has followed Flair for years regarding his trademarks and wrestling catchphrases. Back in 2021, Flair publicly questioned why Becky Lynch was still using “The Man” nickname and later demanded an apology from both Lynch and WWE while also jokingly calling for a $20 million check.
The WWE Hall of Famer has previously argued that the company improperly allowed others to benefit from trademarks and branding he spent decades building. Speaking on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast, Flair expressed frustration over what he believes happened with some of his intellectual property.
“Ultimately, the people that did that to me need to look in the mirror and know that I worked my whole career for that to belong to my daughter or my son.”
At this point, Flair’s latest tweet has left fans speculating about exactly who he is targeting. What is clear is that the Nature Boy is once again prepared to defend what he believes belongs to him, and he appears willing to escalate the matter if it is not resolved soon.
