The WWE tag team division is undergoing significant changes with the company entering the ‘Paul Levesque’ era, introducing new tag titles on RAW this week. Next week, DIY will compete against Awesome Truth for the World Tag Team titles. The Miz, from Awesome Truth, has commented on the upcoming title match.
In the April 15 episode of WWE RAW, The Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) received the new World Tag Team Championships. DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) secured title shot by defeating The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) and the Creed Brothers (Brutus and Julius Creed).
In a RAW Exclusive, The Awesome Truth discussed their upcoming match against DIY on the April 22 episode of WWE RAW. The Miz said fans should “expect the unexpected” as tag team champions, emphasizing their readiness and preparation for the match. He added that they know DIY “inside and out” and believe they are good friends.
”Expect the unexpected. You never know what to expect when you are the tag team champions. So we are ready, we’re prepared. We know them inside and out. I feel like we’re pretty good friends.”
R-Truth echoed the sentiment, noting their great friendship with DIY and asking if the interviewers were referring to Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
”We’re great friends with them. You talking about Shawn and Triple H?”
The Miz confirmed and then stated they needed to leave for other obligations. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see whether The Awesome Truth will be victorious next week on RAW.
