Big E couldn’t say much of anything during the WWE Backlash pre-show without the crowd erupting into loud “New Day rocks!” chants.

Big E. was part of the kickoff panel helping break down the Backlash card, but fans inside the arena clearly had something else on their minds following the recent exits of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods from WWE.

Virtually every time Big E. started speaking at the desk, the crowd immediately started chanting for The New Day. The chants come after Kingston and Woods were moved to WWE’s Alumni section, ending one of the most successful groups in company history.

Even though Big E. wasn’t directly discussing the situation during the pre-show, the crowd reaction made it obvious fans were still thinking about The New Day’s legacy and the group’s sudden end.

Big E., Kingston, and Woods spent over a decade together as one of WWE’s biggest acts, becoming multi-time tag team champions and breaking the record for the longest tag title reign in WWE history. The chants during the pre-show were easily one of the louder crowd reactions of the night before Backlash even officially started.

Do you think WWE fans will ever fully move on from The New Day, or will the group always remain one of the company’s most beloved factions? Leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
