The new era of WWE witnessed a seismic change in the tag team division as WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and General Manager Adam Pearce unveiled a new set of tag team titles in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

During tonight’s edition of the show, both men came out to the ring to address the events of WrestleMania 40 that led to the two WWE tag team titles being separated and becoming exclusive to their respective brands. Following that, they invited new RAW tag team champions, The Miz and R-Truth to the ring and presented them with the brand new ‘World Tag Team Championships.’

After a slight comedic run-in with Triple H that led to him exiting the ring, GM Adam Pearce stated that the pre-announced triple threat match between The New Day, DIY, and Creed Brothers would be to determine the first challengers of the Awesome Truth.

As the new WWE World tag team champions observed from ringside, all three teams threw everything at each other with a huge opportunity hanging in the balance in a classic tag team showdown.

In the end, it was a double team effort by Tomasson Ciampa and Johnny Gargano that led to the win and become the No.1 contenders to challenge their friends, Miz and Truth for their brand new championship gold.
