Ric Flair decided his latest hospital photo was apparently too perfect not to turn into a Halloween post. After recently sharing an image of himself wearing an eyepatch while receiving treatment for his injured eye, The Nature Boy used AI to transform that exact photo into a full-blown pirate.
Flair took to Instagram and showed off the transformation for Halloween. The original image featured Flair at the hospital wearing his real eyepatch, while the AI version kept Flair as the centerpiece but turned him into a pirate complete with a black eyepatch, white shirt, pirate hat and a mug of beer.
“Happy Halloween! WOOOOO! 🎃”
The timing made the whole thing even funnier considering Flair had just spent the previous day telling people to stop worrying so much about him. After repeatedly being asked how he was still alive following his latest accident, Flair pointed toward everything he’s already survived during his life and wrestling career.
“The question I keep getting asked is — how am I still alive? After 5,000 matches with 2,400 of them being one-hour draws and five 90-minute bouts. Round trip to Japan, 24 hours, only to wrestle three one-hour draws.”
Flair also brought up surviving an airplane crash and the serious health crisis that previously landed him in intensive care and on life support. Compared to all of that, he clearly doesn’t see falling down and injuring his eye as the thing that’s finally going to keep him down.
“Airplane crash, 31 days in the ICU and 14 days on life support. 35 days in rehab. And you are worried about me falling down and hitting my eye? WTF.”
That doesn’t mean Flair is completely finished with treatment. He recently revealed that he still needs another surgery and could require an additional skin graft before putting this latest medical situation behind him.
“One more surgery and one more possible skin graft, and then I will be good to go! Thank you @USFHealth Eye Institute! 🙏🏻”
Flair might still have another procedure ahead of him, but apparently that wasn’t going to stop him from having some fun with the situation. Most people would probably just tolerate the eyepatch until they could finally take it off — Flair looked at his and decided he’d found this year’s Halloween costume.
