Ric Flair is apparently getting tired of people asking how the hell he’s still alive. After his recent fall left him with a nasty eye injury and more medical treatment ahead, The Nature Boy decided to remind everyone exactly how much punishment he’s already survived.

On October 30, Flair took to Twitter and responded to the questions he’s been getting about his health following the fall. Instead of sounding worried about his latest setback, the 77-year-old rattled off his decades of wrestling, an airplane crash and his previous life-threatening hospitalization before basically asking why anyone thinks hitting his eye is going to stop him now.

“The question I keep getting asked is — how am I still alive? After 5,000 matches with 2,400 of them being one-hour draws and five 90-minute bouts. Round trip to Japan, 24 hours, only to wrestle three one-hour draws. Airplane crash, 31 days in the ICU and 14 days on life support. 35 days in rehab. And you are worried about me falling down and hitting my eye? WTF.”

Flair’s post also included a graphic comparing his career workload to several other major wrestling names, including Brock Lesnar, Triple H, John Cena and The Undertaker. The point wasn’t exactly subtle, as Flair was emphasizing just how many more matches he claims to have worked before finally calling it a career.

The defiant post comes only two days after Flair revealed that his latest injury still requires more work. On October 28, he shared a photo from the USF Health Eye Institute and said he needs another surgery, along with the possibility of a skin graft.

“One more surgery and one more possible skin graft, and then I will be good to go! Thank you @USFHealth Eye Institute! 🙏🏻”

All of this stems from Flair’s October 23 fall in Florida, which left him with injuries around his face and eye and resulted in a trip to Tampa General Hospital. He spent the night receiving treatment before being released the next day, while also already dealing with a blood clot in his leg that had prevented him from flying.

Flair clearly still has some medical work ahead of him, but he doesn’t seem interested in treating this latest accident like some kind of brush with mortality. If anything, his response was classic Nature Boy — look at everything else he’s survived first, and then ask him again why he should be worried about one busted-up eye.
