CM Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series. It was a loaded event, and fans were ready to go home before Living Colour’s song hit to pop the Allstate Arena in a huge way. Those in TNA Wrestling may have felt a certain type of way about CM Punk going back to WWE.

It was previously reported that TNA Wrestling were very interested in CM Punk. It was not known if an actual deal was in place, because the general idea was that they would be very far apart on money.

PW Insider reports that TNA Wrestling believed that they were close to getting CM Punk to sign a deal with them. It was reported that TNA Wrestling made a “major” money offer to Punk that he was, at least, considering. It was said that Punk had great talks with TNA higher-ups, and there was hope that he may have been at Bound For Glory.

“In speaking to Impact sources after Punk’s WWE return, we are told that Punk was ‘amazing’ in his dealings with top Impact execs, including Scott D’Amore and Lou D’Angeli, during discussions. Impact sources felt they were very close to scoring Punk and at one point, hoped he would even be at Bound for Glory as part of the unveiling of the return of TNA, which did not happen.”

Plenty of people weighed in on the situation, and Kayla Braxton couldn’t help put throw her two cents out there. Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle also dragged WWE’s decision to bring Punk back bit. Either way, CM Punk’s return to WWE made waves and caused viral reaction already. It’s anyone’s guess how things would have turned out if Punk made his TNA return instead.

NWA’s Billy Corgan also made public appeal for CM Punk to come in and have some fun. Obviously, CM Punk went with WWE, because they can offer the money he needs and that pop at the Allstate Arena was worth every penny so far.
