CM Punk was fired from AEW, and the WWE rumors started up automatically. Those were tales that he probably wanted out there, and it didn’t materialize into a return for the Second City Savior. There are other companies out there, and while they may not be able to offer huge money, they are still interested.

Impact Wrestling and CM Punk are churning in the rumor mill in a big way. At this point, they have brought on his old friend Ace Steel as producer as well. That being said, CM Punk hasn’t appeared for another pro wrestling company since his AEW release.

During an appearance on the Mat Men Podcast, Billy Corgan commented on CM Punk potentially working for the NWA. Corgan said that he hasn’t reached out to Punk because Punk is a top star and “deserves top money.” If CM Punk wants to have some fun, then the NWA is certainly open for him.

“That man loves professional wrestling. He may not love the professional wrestling business, but he loves professional wrestling. My only appeal to Punk would be, if you want to have some fun, I can’t pay you what you’re worth, but if you want to have some fun, come have some fun in the NWA. We’ll kick some ass, we’ll have some laughs, and I’ll buy you a vegan sandwich.”

With that kind of honest appeal from Billy Corgan, you can’t help but wonder if it would work on CM Punk. After all, CM Punk doesn’t need to make a ton of money, even though he’s worth it. He obviously loves pro wrestling, and if he doesn’t want to retire, then the NWA sounds like a great option for him.

Only time will tell if CM Punk ends up in another company, with or without a contract. WWE rejected his inquires about bringing him back, and at this point, it’s anyone’s guess where the Second City Savior will end up next.
