Vince Russo is doubling down on his criticism of Triple H’s new WWE deal, and this time, he went even further by saying Paul Levesque should have lost his job.

While speaking on the Two Man Power Trip podcast, Russo reacted again to Paul “Triple H” Levesque getting a new WWE contract extension and pay raise. This time, Russo made it clear he doesn’t just think Triple H failed to earn the raise — he believes WWE should have fired him.

“Everything that he’s done, he should have lost his job. Forget about getting a freaking pay raise, bro. The ratings never grow—they go down. The ratings continue to slide on USA Network and on Netflix.”

Russo then pointed to WWE’s recent talent releases and argued that 23 cuts reflected badly on the company’s development system. In his view, those releases represented failed investments. Russo then said the releases meant WWE wasted major money on talent it failed to properly develop.

“You just released 23 people—that’s 23 people you swung and missed on. Bro, you swung and missed. If you’re a scout and you miss on 23 people, you’re out of a job way before that. So 23 people go through the system—that’s millions and millions of dollars wasted. Then you’ve got him doing an interview saying, ‘This isn’t like football, there are no backups.’ Bro, you’re supposed to be creating the backups.”

He also took issue with Triple H saying WWE does not always know how the audience will react. Russo argued that this shows a disconnect from the fanbase.

“You’re admitting you’ve got nobody ready to fill those spots. And in that same interview, he’s saying, ‘We don’t know if the audience is going to cheer or boo.’ That means he doesn’t know his audience.”

Russo then brought up WWE attendance and WrestleMania sales, claiming Triple H’s creative leadership should not be rewarded while those concerns exist.

“On top of that, look at WrestleMania sales. Look at Monday Night Raw—it was a 20,000-seat arena that was half full. And this guy’s getting a pay raise? It blows my mind.”

Russo then went on to state that Triple H should not get credit for WWE’s major business deals. He claimed those revenue moves are tied to Nick Khan, not Triple H.

“He has nothing to do with the money coming in. That’s Nick Khan making those deals. Triple H has nothing to do with ticket prices, nothing to do with Saudi Arabia deals. He’s got nothing to do with that—zero.”

Triple H’s new WWE deal was announced internally by WWE President Nick Khan during a TKO all-hands virtual town hall. Paul Levesque signed a new agreement to remain WWE Chief Content Officer, with sources indicating it is a multi-year deal.

The contract confirms WWE’s continued trust in Triple H as the head of creative, but Russo clearly sees things very differently. He believes declining numbers, talent releases, attendance concerns, and creative uncertainty make the pay raise impossible to defend.
