Will Ospreay has finally done it. In front of his home-country crowd at Wembley Stadium, Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega in an absolute war at All In to become the new AEW World Champion.
There was no feeling-out period for long. Omega and Ospreay initially sized each other up and traded holds, but things quickly became physical after Omega overpowered Ospreay against the ropes and cracked him with a huge knife-edge chop.
Ospreay fired back with chops of his own, and soon both men were trading heavy punches. Omega dropped Ospreay with a shoulder block and raked his eyes before connecting with another chop, but Ospreay answered with a kick to the face and a springboard crossbody.
That early back-and-forth soon gave way to something much nastier. Omega slammed Ospreay down onto his neck and immediately began targeting the surgically repaired area. He drove Ospreay into the corner, connected with a vicious backbreaker and followed with a neckbreaker that sent Ospreay rolling outside in pain.
Kenny wasn’t finished with the neck. He removed the turnbuckle padding and bent Ospreay’s neck against the exposed steel. Ospreay eventually created some space with a springboard elbow strike before launching himself over the ropes with a corkscrew onto Omega on the floor.
Back inside, Ospreay connected with his familiar combination of kicks for a two-count. He attempted the Sky Twister Press, but Omega got his knees up, only for Ospreay to later answer with the Stundog Millionaire.
Omega looked for his classic senton and moonsault sequence, but Ospreay stopped him on the ropes. Will cracked him with the Cheeky Nandos Kick before bringing him down with a sunset flip powerbomb. The violence escalated again on the outside.
Omega sent Ospreay crashing into the announce table before smashing him in the head with a desktop monitor. Ospreay was soon bleeding heavily, and Omega followed by powerbombing him through the table.
Ospreay somehow dragged himself back into the ring, where Omega immediately greeted him with a V-Trigger. Kenny then hit a brutal Snap Dragon Suplex on the apron, leaving Ospreay crumpled on the floor.
Omega continued attacking the neck with a missile dropkick before attempting a Snap Dragon from the top rope. Ospreay fought it, forcing Omega to switch to a German suplex from the second rope for another two-count.
Kenny drove his knee into Ospreay’s head and body before hitting another Snap Dragon. Another stiff knee connected with Ospreay’s head, but Will suddenly found an opening and exploded with a Hidden Blade out of nowhere.
This time Omega was the one bleeding, with blood coming from around his eye. Omega responded with boxing-style jabs and body shots while Ospreay answered with chops and a huge headbutt. Will then unloaded with Kawada kicks before drilling Omega in the head and continuing to hammer him while he was down.
Another Hidden Blade connected, but Omega kicked out at two. From there, the match became a fight to see who could survive the other man’s biggest weapons. Ospreay and Omega traded V-Triggers, punches and counters before Will planted Kenny with a powerbomb and followed with the Styles Clash. Ospreay looked for the Oscutter, but Omega caught him with a knee directly to the neck.
They went right back to trading body shots and elbows until Omega landed another massive V-Trigger and a reverse hurricanrana. Ospreay somehow got back to his feet, only to get blasted in the face with another knee.
Omega then hit Ospreay with the Tiger Driver ’91. Kenny followed with another V-Trigger before finally connecting with the One-Winged Angel. Ospreay kicked out. Omega couldn’t believe it, but he immediately went back on the attack with another brutal V-Trigger. He tried setting up another One-Winged Angel, only for Ospreay to counter and drop Kenny with a Tiger Driver ’91 of his own.
Then Ospreay decided to steal Omega’s ultimate weapon. Will caught Kenny’s next knee attempt and eventually planted him with his own One-Winged Angel. Omega somehow kicked out at one. Ospreay immediately followed with the Hidden Blade and Stormbreaker, but even that wasn’t enough to put Kenny away.
By this point, Omega was struggling with his left hand, but he continued fighting and managed to connect with another huge knee. Ospreay survived it and found enough left for one final shot. Will exploded forward with another Hidden Blade and finally got the three-count.
After everything Omega threw at his surgically repaired neck, after being busted open and powerbombed through a table, and even after taking the One-Winged Angel, Ospreay was still standing. This time, Wembley didn’t just get to watch one of its own fight for AEW’s biggest prize—it got to watch Will Ospreay leave as AEW World Champion.
