Ric Flair suffered a nasty fall, busted up his face, and spent the night in the hospital — but that apparently wasn’t enough to keep him away from his regular bar. The WWE Hall of Famer returned to the same establishment the following night, on the very day he was released from the hospital.
During the October 25, 2026 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer revealed that Flair had been drinking at a bar near his Florida home before the October 23 incident. According to Meltzer, the establishment is one Flair visits regularly, and it’s close enough to his home that he doesn’t even need to drive there.
“Ric Flair, he was drinking. So he was supposed to be in Seattle for, you know, an autograph thing. And I guess he’s had problems with blood clots, so he was not allowed to fly.”
Flair had already canceled his scheduled autograph appearance in Seattle because of a blood clot in his leg. Doctors had restricted his travel, and Flair announced the cancellation that Friday morning. Meltzer explained that the Nature Boy then visited his usual drinking spot, which has apparently become part of his daily routine.
“So he said the bar he was at is the bar he is always at. That is his place. It’s right by his house. He doesn’t have to drive there, could walk there. And he goes there early in the morning, and that’s his day.”
Things took a bad turn when Flair stepped outside. Meltzer said Flair left his phone behind at the establishment before attempting to cross the street, where he suffered the fall that left him with a bloody head injury and significant damage around his eye.
“And he went there, and I’m not sure exactly what happened. Like, he’d left his phone, so he wasn’t leaving, but he went to go across the street and fell down and hit his head, messed up his eye really bad.”
Flair was taken to Tampa General Hospital following the fall, where he remained overnight before being released on October 24. However, Meltzer revealed that Flair was already back at the same bar that evening, despite everything that had happened the previous day.
“You know, was hospitalized. He’s out of the hospital. He’s okay. He’s at the same place that he was yesterday morning, tonight. So there you go. You know, it’s not even keeping him home.”
That’s the part of the story that raises some eyebrows. Flair had just spent the night receiving medical treatment for injuries to his head and eye, yet he returned to the very establishment he’d visited before the accident. Meltzer didn’t specify exactly when Flair was discharged or how much time passed before he returned, only that he was back there the following night.
Flair had already broken his silence about the incident on October 24, sharing a photo of his injured face with a bandage covering his right eye. He thanked the hospital staff for treating him until 4:30 in the morning and assured fans that he was focused on recovering.
“Thank You All For The Messages And Prayers! I Will Get Back To You Each Individually As I Get Stronger. Thank You To All The Tampa General Hospital Staff And Doctors That Put Up With Me Until 4:30am. I Appreciate You All And Thank You For Everything You Did For Me! I Am Focused On My Healing And Recovery Right Now. I Will Be Okay!”
Flair’s daughter, Charlotte Flair, brought up the Ultimate Warrior explanation while reassuring fans that her father would be okay. She revealed that he had even been joking with his doctor about the old wrestling incident.
“Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head…(ps: he’s going to be ok)”
Meltzer didn’t appear particularly surprised by Flair’s decision to return to the bar. After discussing the hospitalization, the fall, and Flair’s explanation involving vertigo, he ended with a remark about the 77-year-old’s behavior.
“I think everyone knows Ric’s worried about Ric. That’s just the reality of it.”
The entire situation comes at a difficult time for Flair, who is already dealing with a blood clot that requires medical attention. Between the canceled appearance, the bloody fall, and an overnight hospital stay, the Nature Boy has had plenty to deal with in recent days.
What do you think about Ric Flair returning to the same bar the night after his hospitalization? Should the Nature Boy be taking things easier with everything he’s dealing with, or is he simply going about his life as usual? Let us know what you think and leave your feedback in the comments.
