Ric Flair’s health situation just got even more concerning. The WWE Hall of Famer was rushed to a hospital in Florida on Friday, October 23, after suffering a nasty fall that left him bleeding from his face. The incident happened just hours after he revealed that he’s battling a blood clot in his leg.
Flair was at Wagamama in Tampa on Friday morning when the situation unfolded. According to TMZ, the Nature Boy got up from the bar, left his phone and drink behind, and walked across the street before suddenly falling.
The fall left Flair with cuts to his head and eye, with significant bleeding around his eye. There are also concerns that the 77-year-old wrestling legend may have suffered a concussion.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, where Flair was treated before being loaded into an ambulance and transported to the hospital. A photo obtained by TMZ shows first responders gathered around him following the incident. The latest scare comes at an especially difficult time for Flair, who had already been dealing with another serious medical issue earlier that same day.
Just hours before being hospitalized, Flair announced on Twitter that he was canceling his scheduled appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle because doctors had discovered a blood clot in his leg.
“Unfortunately, I Am Dealing With A Blood Clot In My Leg, And My Doctors Have Limited My Travel To 3–4 Hours. Seattle Falls Outside That Range, And As Disappointed As I Am, I Have To Put My Health And Recovery First.”
Flair wasn’t taking the situation lightly. He specifically warned fans about the dangers associated with blood clots and explained why he was following his doctors’ orders rather than risking additional complications.
“Blood Clots Are Extremely Serious And Can Be Life-Threatening. We Have Seen This Recently With Jalen Hurts And The Complications Involving Blood Clots In His Lungs. It Is A Reminder That This Is Not Something To Take Lightly, And I Must Follow Medical Advice.”
The Nature Boy also revealed that doctors have already scheduled a procedure to address the affected vein, which could eventually allow him to resume traveling without the current restrictions.
“I’m Scheduled To Have A Procedure To Strip The Affected Vein, Which My Doctors Expect Will Allow Me To Be Cleared For More Travel Afterward.”
There’s no indication at this point that Flair’s fall was caused by his blood clot, and the full extent of his injuries remains unclear. There’s also no word on whether his hospitalization will affect the upcoming procedure.
Flair has dealt with several health setbacks in recent years. In 2025, he revealed that he was battling melanoma and later suffered a torn rotator cuff that forced him to leave an AEW Dynamite taping before appearing on television.
The latest incident puts Flair back in the hospital at a time when he was already being told to take precautions with his health. He had been hoping to get his blood clot treated and return to traveling, but Friday’s fall has now added another serious concern to the situation. For now, the biggest question is how he’s doing after being taken away in an ambulance and whether he’ll face any additional complications.
