Ric Flair thought he was heading back to The Joe Rogan Experience, but Joe Rogan says the whole thing was a scam.

Rogan addressed the situation on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast, and he didn’t dance around it. Flair had previously announced that he was returning to Rogan’s show to talk about everyone who had an issue with him, especially after the backlash over his comments about Hulk Hogan. The problem is that the return never actually happened. Now, Rogan says there was a reason.

“I’ve got to apologize to Ric Flair. He got scammed.”

According to Rogan, someone reached out to Flair pretending to represent The Joe Rogan Experience and made it seem like Flair had been booked for another appearance. Rogan said Flair wasn’t the only one targeted, either. Tim Dillon apparently dealt with a similar fake booking attempt, though Rogan said Dillon didn’t get caught by it.

“So, some person reached out and said that they were representing this podcast and that he was going to come on the podcast.”

“I think this happened with Tim Dillon, too. It didn’t happen with him where they got him, but they send you an email saying that they’re going to have you come on a podcast, but they need your bank information. Yeah, they’ll pay you. Sometimes it’s like $3,000 because I’ve got those, too.”

That is where the scam gets nasty. Rogan said the fake booking emails offer money for the podcast appearance, but the real goal is to get bank details and clean out the victim’s account.

“And what it really is, is they’re just going to empty your bank account, and it’s just a scam. So, if you get an email like that from me, it’s not real. Sorry, Ric Flair.”

That explains why Flair was so confident when he announced his return back in December 2025. At the time, he said he was thankful and happy to be invited back and planned to air out his issues with critics on Rogan’s platform.

“I Am So Thankful & Happy To Announce That I Have Been Invited To Be On @joerogan’s Podcast Again. I Will Be Discussing My Problem With Everyone Who Has An Issue With Me With THE GREAT JOE ROGAN.”

So the Nature Boy wasn’t ducking the podcast, and Joe Rogan wasn’t backing away from him. According to Rogan, Flair was tricked by someone using the show’s name to make the fake booking look real.

It’s a rough twist for Flair, especially since he had already gone public with the announcement and framed the appearance as his chance to go after his haters. Instead, the whole thing turned into Rogan warning people that if anyone claims they can book them on his podcast for a fee or asks for bank information, it’s fake.
