Moose has seen all the TNA sale chatter, and he has one question for wrestling fans: when did everyone suddenly become a financial analyst?

Moose took to Twitter after more talk about TNA possibly being up for sale, and he called out fans for getting way too invested in how much wrestling companies make, what they are worth, and who might buy them.

“When did wrestling fans start caring about how much wrestling company make and what they are worth ? and why do they get so invested in it ?… when I fell in over with wrestling I only cared to watch the shows didn’t give a shit about any thing else”

That is a pretty clear shot at the nonstop debate around TNA’s future. WWE and TNA have been working closer than ever, and reports have claimed WWE’s agreement with TNA may include a set-price purchase option. There has also been talk that Anthem’s debt could make a full WWE acquisition less attractive. Blake Avignon previously claimed WWE sources pointed to Anthem’s debt as a major reason WWE may not be viewed as a serious buyer.

“Multiple @WWE sources indicate the toxic debt on Anthem’s books is the primary reason WWE isn’t viewed as a buyer for TNA. WWE already has the TV reach, audience, and talent pipeline TNA would offer. Taking on that debt, plus a TV deal with AMC that WWE wouldn’t fully control, makes an acquisition far less attractive than simply poaching talent or licensing the library outright.”

That’s not the end of it, as Dave Meltzer also reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE’s working agreement with TNA includes a purchase option.

“I mean, as far as, like, what’s going to happen, you know, I mean, there’s a, There’s a deal in there when they made the working agreement, you know, part of the working agreement is if WWE wants to buy them, they can buy them. There’s a set price and everything of what they’ll. What they’ll pay.”

Matt Hardy also shut down the idea that TNA is about to be sold to WWE. On The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, he said the company is not in crisis mode.

“So financially, TNA is okay. We’re not about to be bought by WWE right now. I know that’s the rumor. I think down the road in a few years that [could] happen, whatever. But right now that is not happening. We’re actually going in the opposite direction. They’re actually saving money.”

Now Moose is basically telling fans to stop acting like they are sitting in the boardroom. To him, wrestling should be about watching the show, not obsessing over debt, valuations, TV deals, and who might own what next.

The timing makes his post even louder, because TNA’s name keeps getting dragged into sale rumors while the company continues its WWE crossover relationship. Moose clearly seems tired of the business-side obsession and wants fans to remember why they started watching wrestling in the first place.

Do you agree with Moose that fans care too much about wrestling company finances, or is that just part of being a modern wrestling fan now? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
