Kendal Grey’s absence from NXT now has a little more clarity after WWE initially ruled her out for the “foreseeable future.” NXT General Manager Robert Stone has provided a new update on her recovery and what fans should expect while she remains out of action.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Stone addressed Grey’s condition following the injury that left her dealing with vertigo. Interestingly, he doesn’t think Grey immediately realized just how badly she had been affected when it happened.

“At the time of it, I don’t think she knew that she was hurt and out of it. But she has a case of vertigo.”

Then Stone gave a better idea of what Grey’s immediate future looks like. WWE previously left her absence completely open-ended by saying she would be out for the “foreseeable future.” According to Stone, Grey won’t be competing for at least the next few weeks.

“I do know for the next few weeks you will not be seeing Kendal Grey in action.”

That doesn’t necessarily mean Grey will be ready to return as soon as those few weeks are over. Stone revealed that she’s currently recovering from more than one issue and didn’t give an exact date for her return. What he does seem confident about is that Grey will eventually get healthy and come back to the ring.

“She’s healing up from a few different things. Hands down, she will come back from this and get back at some point.”

Grey was ruled out of action after her NXT Women’s Championship match against Kelani Jordan at Heatwave on August 30. She struck an exposed turnbuckle during the match before Jordan picked up the win and walked away with the championship.

WWE provided more details during the September 1 episode of NXT. Vic Joseph revealed that Grey was suffering from vertigo after repeated contact to the affected area, although WWE’s medical team was able to rule out a concussion.

“Kendal Grey suffered a case of vertigo. Our medical staff has ruled out any form of concussion, which is good news.”

Doctors instead discovered a disruption to Grey’s vestibular system, which controls balance and spatial awareness. That was serious enough for WWE to immediately take her out of competition.

“Due to that, we’ve been told that Kendal Grey is out for the foreseeable future here on NXT.”

“Foreseeable future” made Grey’s situation sound pretty open-ended when WWE first announced it. Stone’s comments now give fans a much better idea of what the immediate future looks like, even if nobody is putting an exact date on her comeback yet.

Do you think WWE should keep Kendal Grey out until she is completely healthy before bringing her back into the NXT Women’s Championship picture? Let us know in the comments.
