Kendal Grey is officially out of action following an injury she suffered at NXT Heatwave, as announced during WWE NXT on September 1, 2026.
Vic Joseph confirmed that Grey experienced vertigo after repeatedly taking contact to the affected area during her match against Kelani Jordan. Joseph explained that WWE’s medical staff ruled out a concussion. However, doctors discovered a disruption to Grey’s vestibular system, which controls balance and spatial awareness. Joseph then confirmed that Grey would not be cleared to compete anytime soon.
“Kendal Grey suffered a case of vertigo. Our medical staff has ruled out any form of concussion, which is good news. But due to the repeated contact to that area—and I want to make sure I have this right—according to our medical team, there was a disruption of Kendal Grey’s vestibular system, which controls her balance and awareness.”
“Due to that, we’ve been told that Kendal Grey is out for the foreseeable future here on NXT.”
Grey suffered the injury during her NXT Women’s Championship match against Jordan at Heatwave on August 30. The match ended after Grey struck an exposed turnbuckle, allowing Jordan to secure the victory and leave the event as the new champion.
WWE did not provide a timetable for Grey’s return. The good news is that she avoided a concussion, but the disruption to her balance system is serious enough to keep her out of the ring until doctors clear her.
