Kendal Grey just dropped another update on her recovery, and it doesn’t sound like she’s getting the news she wanted.
Ahead of the September 15, 2026 episode of WWE NXT, Grey took to Twitter and revealed that doctors still aren’t on her side when it comes to getting back in the ring. Grey kept the message short, but it was enough to make it clear she still hasn’t received the green light she was hoping for.
“Got some news today… looks like the doctors are still not on my side 😐”
That update comes after WWE initially ruled Grey out for the “foreseeable future” following the injury she suffered at Heatwave. NXT General Manager Robert Stone later provided more clarity while speaking on Busted Open Radio, revealing Grey had been dealing with vertigo and would definitely miss at least several weeks of action. Stone explained that Grey may not have immediately realized how badly she had been affected when the injury happened.
“At the time of it, I don’t think she knew that she was hurt and out of it. But she has a case of vertigo.”
“I do know for the next few weeks you will not be seeing Kendal Grey in action.”
Stone also revealed that Grey was recovering from multiple issues rather than just one, although he remained confident she would eventually return.
“She’s healing up from a few different things. Hands down, she will come back from this and get back at some point.”
Grey was taken out of action following her NXT Women’s Championship match against Kelani Jordan at Heatwave on August 30. During the match, Grey struck an exposed turnbuckle before Jordan picked up the victory and walked away with the championship. WWE later provided additional information during the September 1 episode of NXT, when Vic Joseph revealed that Grey was suffering from vertigo but had been cleared of a concussion. Doctors instead found a disruption to Grey’s vestibular system, which controls balance and spatial awareness.
“Kendal Grey suffered a case of vertigo. Our medical staff has ruled out any form of concussion, which is good news.”
“Due to that, we’ve been told that Kendal Grey is out for the foreseeable future here on NXT.”
Grey’s latest post now makes it clear that whatever progress she has made still isn’t enough for doctors to clear her. With WWE NXT airing September 15, fans hoping for a surprise return appear to have their answer straight from Grey herself.
