Jon Moxley and MJF have somehow spent years as two of AEW’s biggest stars without getting dragged into another major feud. Apparently, that isn’t an accident — and it has more to do with how differently the two guys see wrestling than any backstage beef.

Speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed why AEW hasn’t gone back to Moxley vs. MJF in recent years. According to the report, the two simply have very different philosophies when it comes to wrestling, which makes putting together a program a little complicated.

“They don’t see wrestling the same way, and that makes it hard to produce wrestling together. Jon sees wrestling in a totally different way than MJF. When that’s the reality, it’s not a personal thing — when that’s the reality, it’s hard to work in collaboration. If Tony really badly needs them to do a program, they’ll probably do it. But unless that’s the case, they will just do their own thing.”

The two certainly have plenty of history. Their first major feud came in 2020, when MJF launched his ridiculous presidential-style campaign against Moxley before challenging him for the AEW World Championship at All Out. MJF even managed to get Moxley’s Paradigm Shift banned from the match, only for Moxley to use it behind the referee’s back and retain anyway.

They eventually came back around to each other in 2022 after MJF returned at All Out and earned another shot at the AEW World Championship. That set up their Full Gear match, where things went very differently the second time around.

MJF finally beat Moxley at Full Gear 2022 after William Regal handed him brass knuckles. MJF knocked Moxley out, captured the AEW World Championship for the first time and seemingly closed the book on their rivalry for the time being. That ended up being their last major one-on-one program, and AEW hasn’t pulled the trigger on round three since.

There’s also an easy story sitting there whenever AEW wants to revisit it. Moxley won their first championship bout, MJF won the second and walked away with the title, so these two still have some unfinished business without AEW needing to manufacture a reason for them to cross paths again.

Would you want AEW to put Jon Moxley and MJF back together for another feud despite their reportedly different approaches to wrestling? Let us know what you think in the comments.
