The fallout from WrestleMania 42 weekend isn’t slowing down, and now more fans are stepping forward with stories that paint CM Punk as someone they say has a long history of bad fan interactions.
After the hotel confrontations at the MGM Grand made headlines, a fan took to a Facebook group called WRESTLING Meet And Greets to share what he described as the worst experience he’s ever had meeting a wrestler — and he didn’t hold back.
The fan, identified as Patrick Tengille, said he has met dozens of wrestlers over the years, but claimed Punk stood out in the worst possible way after meeting him at a Fanatics event in 2025.
“The worst experience I got meeting is Cm punk… We met more than 80 wrestlers so far (in my life) and CM Punk at the 2025 Fanatics event came on top of being a real asshole.”
He went on to describe Punk’s behavior as cold and rude during the meet-and-greet, claiming Punk barely interacted with fans and left people feeling disappointed after paying to meet him.
“To the people that are going to the 2026 fanatics event if you meet him, you will be deceived … he doesn’t talk, he dead stares you.”
The fan admitted he used to defend Punk whenever criticism came up, but said the real-life encounter completely changed his view.
“I was also a white knight of him, defended him on every occasion and couldn’t believe he wouldn’t be that bad but when I met him at the 2025 fanatics event, I understand how he is.”
He also described a moment that stuck with him involving another fan who tried to give Punk flowers — a gesture he claims Punk rejected without hesitation.
“A women in front of us gave him some flowers he put them straight in the garbage and said ‘I don’t need that’.”
The same fan contrasted that experience with a much more positive meeting involving Drew McIntyre, saying the difference between the two couldn’t have been clearer.
“Drew McIntyre is the definition of class… He took the time to wish my girlfriend a happy birthday, take free picture, a hug and a handshake and took like 2-3 minutes to talk to us.”
These stories started gaining traction after Punk’s WrestleMania weekend turned chaotic inside the MGM Grand, where he was caught on video knocking a fan’s phone down during a confrontation near the elevators. According to Billi Bhatti of The Dirty Sheets Wrestling Informer podcast, tensions inside the hotel had been building before that moment. Bhatti also brought up a prior situation he said involved Punk and children during an earlier hotel encounter, using it as another example of how tense interactions with fans can turn ugly.
During that discussion, Bhatti described a situation where children approached Punk hoping for a photo but instead got caught in a confrontation.
“Instead of taking a picture with a six year old and an eight year old… he chose to have a confrontation with the children.”
He added that Punk allegedly addressed the kids directly instead of speaking to their parents.
“Next time your parents want a picture of me, tell them to ask me by themselves.”
With more fans now speaking up and older stories surfacing, Punk’s name continues to stay in the middle of the conversation following WrestleMania weekend. What started as one viral video has quickly turned into a wave of fans sharing experiences that they say show this wasn’t just a one-time situation.
