TNA’s roster shakeup just hit another longtime name, because Eric Young is officially gone.
On July 1, 2026, TNA announced that it had released Young effective immediately. The company kept the statement short, but made sure to point out his history with the promotion, including his two runs as TNA World Champion.
“TNA Wrestling has come to the terms on the release of Eric Young effective immediately. EY has had a legendary TNA career, including twice as TNA World Champion. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Young’s release comes during a rough stretch of cuts for TNA. Anthem Sports recently confirmed a workforce reduction meant to streamline operations and sharpen the company’s focus on strategy and profitability. That announcement already included the departures of Tommy Dreamer, Tessa Blanchard, and “others,” so Young’s exit makes it clear the trimming is still not over.
Aiden Prince also confirmed he was let go, admitting the news hit hard after spending the last several years working with TNA. Prince said he was disappointed, but still thanked everyone he worked with during his time in the company.
“Yesterday, i got the call that i was let go from TNA. Id be lying if i said i wasn’t bummed, my work has been so much of my life for the last 4/5 years. Thank you everyone I had the pleasure of working with.”
Eric Young leaving is a bigger emotional hit because of how closely tied he is to TNA’s history. He was not just another name on the roster. He was a former world champion, a longtime company figure, and someone fans immediately connect with different eras of the promotion.
TNA is clearly trying to tighten things up behind the scenes, but the exits are piling up fast. With Young now joining the list, this no longer feels like a small round of changes. It feels like a full company reset.
