Drew McIntyre has spent years tearing into CM Punk, but this time he actually brought his college degree into the fight and reached a pretty brutal verdict.

During an appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast, McIntyre was asked about his degree in criminology and whether he ever applies anything he learned to the people he deals with in wrestling. Drew didn’t have to think very long before Punk’s name entered the conversation. McIntyre joked that Punk would make one hell of a subject to study.

“CM Punk, that guy would be a hell of a case study.”

Drew then explained that he actually leaned into that criminology background during his feud with Punk. His argument was simple: people should look at the history of both men and decide for themselves who deserves to be trusted.

“Just use Google and type my name in and see the character witness reports of people, what they think about me. Your hero, your warrior. They go through tough times.”

Then came Punk. McIntyre told people to do the exact same search on his longtime rival, and that is where things got ugly. Drew once again compared Punk’s ability to win people over to Charles Manson, something McIntyre has brought up before when discussing Punk’s connection with fans.

“Now type his name in. He’s a terrible human being. I know he’s Charles Manson-like. I know he just woos you all with his words, but trust the guy that’s always been there for you.”

Stephanie played along with Drew’s criminology angle by bringing up the idea of being guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Drew didn’t hesitate to deliver his verdict.

“No. He’s a guilty piece of crap.”

McIntyre laughed it off afterward and admitted that if they started talking about Punk, he could keep going forever. That probably isn’t much of an exaggeration considering Drew recently said he wants Punk gone from WWE altogether and has continued taking shots at him even while away from WWE television.

Drew did not bring up any of Punk’s interactions with fans during this interview, but his comments will probably hit differently for people who followed some of the incidents involving Punk away from WWE events this year. In April, video from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas showed Punk knocking a fan’s phone from his hand while the man was filming AJ Lee and Bayley in the hotel lobby. The fan later said he wanted an apology from Punk but did not intend to pursue legal action.

That wasn’t the only controversy tied to Punk at the MGM Grand. Ringside News also covered claims of a second hotel confrontation involving Punk and another fan, while police were also called in connection with the hotel drama. The circumstances surrounding those interactions became a major debate, especially since wrestlers have repeatedly pushed back against fans following or approaching them at hotels.

Another situation surfaced in July when a mother spoke out following an encounter involving Punk and her six-year-old son at a WWE hotel. The mother claimed Punk “mad-dogged” the child after he recognized him, while she later denied that her family had stalked or followed Punk to the hotel.

Punk had also posted a since-deleted Instagram Story around that time warning fans not to follow him back to his hotel. Those incidents produced plenty of arguments online over where the line should be between fan access and a wrestler’s privacy, so Drew certainly won’t be alone in having strong opinions about Punk, even if his reasons go much deeper than a few hotel encounters.

McIntyre and Punk already turned their genuine friction into one of WWE’s most personal rivalries, and Drew clearly hasn’t decided to leave any of that hostility in the past. If anything, giving Punk a criminology-inspired guilty verdict shows he is still finding new ways to keep the rivalry alive even when they aren’t standing across the ring from each other.

What do you make of Drew McIntyre calling CM Punk a “guilty piece of crap”? Do you think Drew is just keeping their rivalry alive, or do you think there is still genuine bad blood between them? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
