CM Punk had a great time with the Las Cruces crowd, but somebody apparently took things too far once the WWE show was over.

Punk took to his Instagram Story, one day after WWE’s live event in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and thanked fans for being loud and making the night fun. Buried inside the upbeat message, however, was a warning aimed at anyone who followed him after he left the building.

“Ahi for breakfast. Breakfast of champions. Please do not FOLLOW ME TO MY HOTEL. Las Cruces you were lovely! Loud and fun. See you all soon. Albuquerque on deck! Thank you. 🥳”

The Instagram Story was later deleted, but the message had already landed. Punk did not explain who followed him, how close they got or whether there was any confrontation at the hotel. He simply drew a hard line between supporting him at a WWE event and tracking him back to where he was staying.

The timing is notable because hotel encounters involving Punk have gotten attention before. Following WrestleMania 42 earlier this year, Ringside News reported on a 9-1-1 call connected to one of two confrontations involving Punk at the MGM Grand. That incident became separate from the widely shared video showing Punk knocking a fan’s phone away near Bayley and AJ Lee.

Whether the post was prompted by something that happened in Las Cruces or was simply a reminder to fans isn’t clear. Either way, Punk’s position was simple: if you want to see him, come to the show—not the hotel.
