Danhausen is not letting the R-Truth comparisons slide, especially when the criticism comes with bad information, as he shut down a fan who called him a knockoff version of Truth.

A fan took to Twitter and called Danhausen a “knockoff R-Truth,” while also claiming that R-Truth was “no longer making appearances” on WWE television.

“And you should focus on actually wrestling instead of being an knockoff R-Truth just because he is no longer making appearances!”

Danhausen quickly shut that down by pointing out that R-Truth is still very much active on WWE programming. He also fired back with a very Danhausen-style insult by stating that the fan’s brain is no longer making appearances.

“He is quite literally one half of the current tag team champions. Apparently your brain is no longer making appearances!”

This comes after Danhausen’s WWE run turned into one of the company’s most surprising success stories of the year. He debuted at Elimination Chamber after weeks of mysterious crate teases on RAW and SmackDown, but the crowd reaction was rough and fans loudly rejected the segment.

That rough start did not stop Danhausen from catching fire. Over the last two months, he has become one of WWE’s hottest merchandise sellers, landed crossover attention outside wrestling, appeared at WrestleMania 42, and competed at Backlash.

WWE executives have also taken notice. During a WWE employee Town Hall meeting, Nick Khan and Paul “Triple H” Levesque openly praised Danhausen’s turnaround and showed clips of him while discussing how quickly he overcame the negative debut reaction.

The merchandise numbers made the story even bigger. WWE revealed Danhausen is currently the company’s number two merchandise seller despite only joining WWE a little over two months ago. Three separate Danhausen shirts are also said to be inside WWE’s current top five best-selling merchandise items.

Danhausen may still have critics, but his response shows he is more than willing to fire back when someone takes a shot at him. Considering how quickly he has gone from being booed at Elimination Chamber to becoming one of WWE’s top merch movers, the “knockoff” label clearly is not slowing him down.

Do you think Danhausen handled the R-Truth comparison perfectly, or do you think the fan had a fair point? Share your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
