John Laurinaitis was the former Head of Talent Relations of WWE and made headlines for shocking reasons after he was allegedly involved in Vince McMahon’s hush money settlement scandal. It all came crashing down right after that, for good reason. Jim Ross really doesn’t like Johnny Ace and recently, Ross even claimed that Vince McMahon never really trusted Laurinaitis.

Following Vince McMahon’s hush money scandal, Johnny Ace was placed on indefinite administrative leave, and his future was all but certain after that. As previously reported, John Laurinaitis was fired by WWE earlier this year.

Many people in WWE rejoiced over his firing as well. While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross claimed that Vince McMahon never really trusted John Laurinaitis.

”He went out of his way to make sure he stayed in front of Vince all the time. There’s not a day went by that I didn’t talk to Vince, [by] phone, texts, or meetings. But I never went out of my way to [say], ‘Hey Vince, guess what I did today? You’d be so proud of me.’ Well, first of all, Vince ain’t proud of sh*t. He’s just not. It’s not a big knock. It’s just the way that he is, and Laurinaitis played that up.

I made decisions without Vince’s [formal approval]. I didn’t have to get in a situation where I’m going to have to get everything okayed through the old man. He trusted me. I don’t know that Vince ever really, truly trusted Laurinaitis. We’ve kind of seen how that relationship worked out and evolved.”

As Ringside News exclusively reported, Johnny Ace’s company cell phone number was shut off weeks before it was made public that he was fired. It remains to be seen what Laurinaitis will do next, but it will likely not have anything to do with WWE.
