Cody Rhodes got his last name back after WWE held onto it for a long time. That doesn’t mean he will be appearing on AEW programming with his full name.

During a media conference to promote Full Gear, Cody Rhodes was asked about his name. He is obviously very happy to have the Rhodes name back, but he is not using it in the pro wrestling space.

The American Nightmare revealed that he got the Cody Rhodes name for use in third party projects. Now he can be called Cody Rhodes during other things outside of AEW like The Go Big Show.

Cody also remarked that there are no hard feelings between himself and WWE.

It’s not clear if WWE had a non-compete clause as part of their deal to give up the copyright for Cody’s name. As of right now Cody Rhodes’ full name will remain absent from AEW programming despite Cody’s passionate speech on the matter after Dynamite this week.
