Val Venis tried to go after MJF, but the Salt of the Earth wasted no time responding to the former WWE star, and he didn’t hold back.
After targeting multiple wrestlers in recent days, including Sami Zayn, Val Venis jumped back on Twitter and hinted at going after MJF with a short message that didn’t say much — but said enough.
“Don't get me started on MJF.”
MJF’s response didn’t come in the form of a typical back-and-forth. Instead, he dug up an old tweet from Cody Rhodes—and let that do the talking. The post directly called out Venis and questioned his entire legacy in the business. The tweet paints Venis as someone who never drew money, relied on others to stay relevant, and hasn’t been able to maintain a place in wrestling since his run ended.
"Stop. You know nothing. You have drawn 0 dollars. No fan has ever left a show thinking about you. You were lucky to be a juiced up double-lifer "over with the boys" type in an era where you hid in plain sight coasting on others' success. Couldn't hang then, can't get booked now."
This comes as Venis continues his recent streak of calling out wrestlers, first going after Mick Foley and Brody King over political messaging, then taking a shot at Sami Zayn’s drawing ability — and now shifting toward MJF, but the former AEW World Champion was ready.
Bottom line — Venis lobbed a vague shot, and MJF answered by dragging an old receipt back into the limelight that cuts a lot deeper than a one-line comeback. This one isn’t cooling off anytime soon, especially with both sides clearly willing to keep it going.
Do you think MJF’s response hit harder by using Cody Rhodes’ words, or should he have gone at Val Venis himself? Drop your thoughts and feedback below.
