AJ Styles has friends in AEW, but that doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to join them. He had a chance last year, but he re-signed with WWE.

Styles’ in-ring career is winding down and he wants to make the most of the time he has left. His position in WWE is solid (even if WWE fired his friends). The company also has a lot of opportunities for someone like Styles even after he’s retired.

On a recent Twitch stream, AJ Styles said “never say never,” when it comes to AEW. That is a classic pro wrestling excuse, but he did go on to say that he hopes to stay with WWE even after he hangs up his boots.

“As far as AEW is concerned, never say never, right?”

“Change always – some change sucks. You know how one thing is done and the other is not worth the hassle. I don’t need, at least right now, to go anywhere else. So, why would I? But again, never say never.”

AJ Styles will likely be watching AEW even if he doesn’t join them. He also has an eye for talent so taking recruiter job might be perfect for him. Gerald Brisco did that job for years, but he was part of the April 15th cuts.

We’ll have to see what’s next for AJ Styles. Right now WWE really needs him on television because his name draws fans. For the time being, it’s not likely he will leave that spotlight.
