Zelina Vega has officially introduced the next chapter of her wrestling career following her WWE release.
After quietly trademarking the name “Xelina” earlier this week, the former WWE star confirmed it with a cinematic vignette on her YouTube channel that looks back on everything she accomplished before stepping into a completely new identity.
Rather than simply announcing a name change, the video tells the story of how she got there. It opens with a young Vega watching Rey Mysterio and dreaming of becoming a wrestler before her present-day self leads that younger version through the defining moments of her career. Along the way, fans revisit her partnership with Andrade El Idolo, her run alongside Mysterio in the LWO, and the night she captured the Women’s United States Championship.
The celebration doesn’t last forever. As the video progresses, it shifts from career highlights to the pressure that came with them. Family celebrations give way to disappointment, self-doubt and the darker version of Vega that emerged near the end of her WWE run.
Instead of fighting that side of herself, she embraces it. The vignette ends with Vega walking through a doorway as flashes of her new persona take over, officially introducing Xelina as the character she’ll carry into the next stage of her career.
With independent bookings already being accepted and a feature film role reportedly waiting in the wings, Xelina’s post-WWE run is no longer something fans have to speculate about—it’s officially underway.
