Zelina Vega isn’t holding back after her WWE release — and she’s already making it clear this isn’t the end of her story.

After Sean Ross Sapp confirmed Vega was part of WWE’s latest round of post-WrestleMania cuts — alongside names like Aleister Black, Kairi Sane, and Alba Fyre — Vega addressed the situation directly during a Twitch stream. Before getting into the details, Vega made it clear she’s not leaving WWE with bitterness — but she’s also not downplaying what this means for her next move.

“I don’t hold any bad feelings—I understand business is business. However, business is business on my side as well. I don’t even think they expect what’s next. Wrestling isn’t the only screen you’ll see me on.”

She then revealed exactly how she found out about the release — and it wasn’t the usual call she had come to expect during her time with the company. Vega also addressed whether the release was something she saw coming, making it clear that there were no warning signs beforehand.

“When people call me, usually from there it would say Stamford calling me, and that’s when your heart is like, ‘Oh f***.’ But this time it said TKO. 5:09 PM is when I found out, so yeah, that is the thing.

“Did it come as a shock, or were there locker room whispers? It did come as a shock, honestly. I didn’t hear any whispers.”

From there, Zelina Vega gave her perspective on why the decision may have been made, pointing to her recent usage — or lack of it — on television.

“But I guess I understand because it’s like, if you don’t book people, they don’t make you money. So there’s that. Not even like I was off TV all the time—I was off TV for a bit.”

She didn’t stop there. Vega hinted that creative plans were in place for her character that never fully got the chance to play out — something she believes could have changed how fans saw her run.

“It was like, if you would’ve let Zelina be Zelina the way we had envisioned for this new character, y’all would have f***ing loved it because we had so many things we wanted to do.”

This update adds more context to her release. Instead of just another name in a wave of cuts, Vega is positioning herself as someone who had more to offer — and is now ready to prove it elsewhere. Bottom line: Zelina Vega didn’t see the release coming — but she’s already focused on what’s next, and she’s making it clear it won’t be limited to wrestling.

Do you think Zelina Vega will make a bigger impact outside WWE, or should the company have given her more time to develop her character before letting her go? Let us know your thoughts.
