Zelina Vega’s return to the wrestling world now has a date.
Just a day after revealing her new “Xelina” persona following her WWE release, the former Women’s United States Champion has been announced for her first wrestling-related appearance outside the company. WrestleCon took to Twitter and confirmed that Thea Trinidad will be appearing at its Minneapolis convention on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1.
“She’s back and better than ever! Welcome @ZelinaVegaWWE, the first ever Queen of the Ring! She will be at WrestleCon on Friday and Saturday. Table pricing of $60/$60/$100 and she will also be available for pro photo ops.”
While the appearance is a convention booking rather than an in-ring match, it marks Vega’s first officially announced wrestling event since parting ways with WWE and gives fans their first opportunity to see her during this new chapter of her career.
Vega released a cinematic vignette introducing her new identity, Xelina. Instead of simply revealing a new name, the video reflected on her journey from a young fan inspired by Rey Mysterio to becoming one of WWE’s most recognizable stars. It revisited her alliance with Andrade, her time in the LWO, and her Women’s United States Championship victory before shifting to the frustrations and darker emotions that defined the final stretch of her WWE run.
By the end of the vignette, Vega embraced that evolution, walking through a doorway and emerging as Xelina—the persona she’ll carry into the next phase of her wrestling career.
With independent bookings now beginning to materialize, WrestleCon’s announcement is the first concrete sign that fans won’t have to wait long to see Vega back on the wrestling scene, even if her first stop is meeting fans rather than stepping into the ring.
