WWE is apparently not planning to punish Ludwig Kaiser after his recent arrest, and that update comes while his AAA storyline is still moving ahead.

According to False Finish, WWE is not expected to discipline Kaiser following his arrest last week. That is a major deal, especially since Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, has remained tied to AAA’s El Grande Americano angle during the ongoing legal situation.

Kaiser was arrested in Orange County, Florida over an alleged April 23 altercation at the Paramount on Lake Eola Apartments in Orlando. Ringside News previously reported that Barthel turned himself in after learning there was an active warrant for his arrest. He later posted $1,000 bond and entered a written plea of not guilty.

The misdemeanor battery case remains active. Investigators previously stated probable cause was established through witness statements, visible injuries, surveillance footage, and a photo lineup identification.

Kaiser’s legal team later filed a supplemental motion asking the court to allow him to travel out of state and internationally while the case continues. The filing noted that prosecutors were not objecting to the request. The filing then formally asked the court to approve travel connected to WWE and AAA-related commitments.

“Since the initial filing of the Motion to Travel, undersigned counsel communicated with Assistant State Attorney Shaylynne Kotch, who indicated no objection to this motion. WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, the Defendant respectfully requests this Honorable Court to enter an Order allowing him to travel out of the State of Florida and internationally.”

That travel issue matters because AAA already moved forward with El Grande Americano’s rescheduled “Serenata Para” event at the Kings League Dome. The public appearance was free, but entry was limited to the first 300 attendees. Before the event, AAA posted a video of El Grande Americano speaking to the crowd and sounding ready to finally appear.

“My people, we’re here. Where are you guys? I can’t wait. I’m really, really excited, and honestly, I really, really wanted to be here. I’m ready. Let’s go.”

AAA had initially canceled the event after Kaiser’s arrest, but the company quickly reversed course and rescheduled it. Now, with WWE not expected to discipline Kaiser, it appears the El Grande Americano storyline will continue as planned, especially after he appeared on AAA programming last week.

El Grande Americano and the OG El Grande Americano are also set for a mask vs. mask match next week, keeping the luchador tradition at the center of AAA’s current story with WWE. For now, Kaiser’s legal case is still active, but WWE’s apparent stance suggests his current bookings may not be affected.

Do you think WWE is making the right call by not disciplining Ludwig Kaiser while the case remains ongoing? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
