Vladimir Abouzeide is finally back home after a scary health situation that had wrestling fans worried. WWE’s officially recognized superfan spent a month in the hospital after suffering a bad fall in New York City, but he has now been released.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported on June 8, 2026, with permission from Vladimir’s family, that Vladimir was released from the hospital over the weekend. The update comes after he suffered a severe concussion and needed a large amount of physical therapy following the fall.

Johnson previously reported that Vladimir had been walking with his sister when he suddenly fell and hit his head on the concrete. Doctors were concerned about possible bleeding on the brain, but he was later believed to be out of immediate danger.

Vladimir has also been battling Parkinson’s disease for several years, and balance issues connected to that condition were said to have played a role in the accident. He remained hospitalized in New York City while recovering from the concussion and working through physical therapy.

The best news is that Vladimir is not only home now, but he is already thinking about getting back to wrestling events. According to Johnson, Vladimir “intends to get back to attending pro wrestling ASAP.”

That will be great news for longtime fans who know just how much Vladimir means to wrestling history. He became one of WWE’s most recognizable fans after appearing at countless events throughout the 1980s and 1990s, often front and center for some of the biggest moments of that era.

WWE later released Superfan: The Story of Vladimir on Peacock in 2023 after the documentary had been delayed for years. The film told the story of his journey from immigrating to Manhattan from Haiti as a child to becoming one of the most beloved fans in WWE history.

Vladimir still has recovery ahead of him, but this is a big step in the right direction. After a frightening fall, a month in the hospital, and serious rehab, WWE’s most famous superfan is back home and already looking toward his return to live wrestling.
