Baron Corbin waited until the cameras stopped rolling to make his move on Trick Williams. After the July 24 episode of WWE SmackDown went off the air, Corbin jumped Trick from the crowd, threw him back into the ring and kept beating him down in front of the fans.
The attack came after Trick failed to win the fatal four-way main event, with Finn Balor scoring the victory over Damian Priest, Royce Keys and Williams. WWE later posted footage showing Trick taking photos with fans at ringside when Corbin suddenly blindsided him. Corbin dragged Trick over the barricade, tossed him into the ring and stood over him while making it clear that this was only the beginning.
“I told you. I’m going to take everything.”
Corbin started to leave, but Trick grabbed a microphone and called him back. Trick ripped Corbin for attacking him from behind and challenged him to settle things face-to-face at SummerSlam.
“Look here, you big, bald-headed bum. Maybe where you’re from, it’s okay to sneak a man when he’s not looking and fight when he doesn’t know what’s about to happen. But where I’m from, you knuckle up, look a man face-to-face and fight like a real man.”
Trick then pushed things further by daring Corbin to prove he was not afraid of him.
“Prove to me you aren’t scared. Prove to me you aren’t a bitch, and fight me one-on-one at SummerSlam.”
Corbin accepted the challenge from ringside and made it clear that he has more than a victory in mind.
“It’s done, and I’m taking that title.”
The attack appears to have locked Trick Williams and Baron Corbin into a SummerSlam fight, with Corbin making his return by leaving Trick laid out after the show.
