The July 24 episode of WWE SmackDown went down in the Oakland Arena in Oakland, California. This was an important night for members of the Bella Army.
Nikki Bella hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since the March 27, 2026, episode of SmackDown, where she teamed with Brie Bella to defeat Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. During the match, she suffered a serious ankle injury that has kept her out of action ever since.
Since Nikki Bella has been out of action, Paige took her place and won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Brie Bella. They even lost the titles without Nikki’s return. This week on SmackDown, the company carried on that storyline.
Fatal Influence won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at Saturday Night’s Main Event. That wasn’t the end of their storyline with Paige and Brie Bella at all. This week on SmackDown, Brie Bella took on Lainey Reid.
Brie Bella beat Lainey Reid after a match that stretched through a commercial break. Then Fatal Influence jumped Brie Bella after the match, but Nikki Bella ran down for the save. Nikki made her big return official by nailing a Rack Attack 2.0 on Jacy Jayne.
Nikki Bella called out Fatal Influence for coming up from the minor leagues and stealing the titles. Then she made it clear that a six-woman match will be on at SummerSlam between the newly called-up stable The Bella Twins and Paige.
