TripleManía 34 already has Rey Mysterio vs. Omos and Dominik Mysterio defending the AAA Mega Championship, but apparently the advertised card isn’t the whole story. WWE is keeping a few things quiet for the weekend, and Night Two is the show people are being told to watch closely.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is excited about its upcoming Mexico City shows and has some “unexpected elements” lined up. The report didn’t spoil what those are, but specifically pointed toward the second night of TripleManía.
“While WWE as a whole is excited for its upcoming shows in Mexico City, WrestleVotes on Fightful Select learned that WWE has a few ‘unexpected elements in store for the shows,’ particularly on night two of Triplemanía.”
Someone connected to the situation apparently wasn’t interested in ruining the surprise either. Instead of giving away what WWE has planned, the source left one pretty clear instruction for the weekend.
“A source who is connected said it’ll be a great weekend, but keep an eye on night two of Triplemanía.”
There’s already enough on Night Two to make that interesting. Rey Mysterio will face Omos, while Dominik Mysterio puts the AAA Mega Championship on the line against El Grande Americano. AAA is also set to crown a new Latin American Champion in a Four-Way Match. La Parka, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and El Fiscal are confirmed, while the fourth participant has yet to be announced.
Whatever WWE is hiding comes during a TripleManía weekend that wasn’t even supposed to look like this. TripleManía 34 was originally planned as a single show on September 12. Once Zuffa Boxing landed in Las Vegas that same night, WWE and TKO saw an opportunity to do something bigger rather than simply moving AAA out of the way. That helped turn one TripleManía into two. Night One will take place September 11 in Las Vegas before AAA heads to Arena CDMX for Night Two on September 13.
That makes TripleManía 34 a considerably bigger weekend than AAA originally planned, but WWE apparently still has another card or two up its sleeve. The matches are announced, the venues are set, and now the only instruction coming from someone connected to the situation is a simple one: keep an eye on Night Two.
