WWE NXT Halloween Havoc is the next Premium Live for the NXT brand, and it’s stacked with matches that could steal the show. So, fans can expect plenty of excitement and action from beginning to end.

NXT Championship: Grayson Waller (c) vs. Tony D’Angelo

Tony D’Angelo has wanted his championship back ever since Grayson Waller took it from him. Tonight he finally gets Waller one-on-one.

Waller won the NXT Championship from D’Angelo at Heatwave, but he didn’t exactly do it without some help. Cruz Montana hit D’Angelo with Spun The Block, allowing Waller to capitalize and take the championship.

D’Angelo has been chasing a proper rematch ever since. He finally earned it by defeating Myles Borne on October 13, removing any argument Waller might have had about whether his former rival deserved another opportunity.

Waller has been carrying himself like D’Angelo is simply another challenger. D’Angelo sees things differently. He believes he’s coming for the championship he never should have lost in the first place. Tonight finally settles it without another contender standing between them.

NXT Women’s Championship: Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Wren Sinclair

Wren Sinclair went through a pretty ridiculous amount of trouble to get this match. Sinclair was suspended after striking an official while trying to attack Kelani Jordan. That should have prevented her from entering the 20-Woman No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal, but Sinclair found another way in.

She disguised herself as AAA’s Lady Shani, entered the match anyway and won the whole thing. Kelani understandably wasn’t thrilled about rewarding somebody who wasn’t even supposed to be competing. NXT General Manager Robert Stone eventually reinstated Sinclair and officially recognized her as the No. 1 contender.

So after the suspension, disguise and Battle Royal scheme, Wren finally gets what she wanted tonight. Kelani now has to make sure Sinclair’s plan doesn’t end with her taking the NXT Women’s Championship too.

Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Match: Zilla Fatu vs. Charlie Dempsey

BirthRight tried to recruit Zilla Fatu. Saying no turned out to be pretty painful. After Fatu rejected the group, BirthRight began targeting him and repeatedly attacked his hand. Things eventually reached the point where they crushed it using the steel steps.

Fatu has been looking for payback ever since. Charlie Dempsey is the BirthRight member standing across from him tonight, but there’s another problem neither man can completely prepare for. This is a Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Match, meaning the stipulation will be determined by the Halloween Havoc wheel.

Fatu already has plenty of reasons to hurt Dempsey. Depending on where that wheel lands, WWE might give him exactly the kind of match to do it.

Zaria vs. Izzi Dame

Izzi Dame was offered an NXT Women’s North American Championship match and turned it down. That’s exactly why this match might be more interesting than a normal title defense.

Zaria offered Dame a championship opportunity, but Dame refused because getting inside the champion’s head apparently mattered more to her than immediately going after the title. It seems to be working.

Zaria has become increasingly frustrated with Dame, and tonight the championship isn’t even at risk. Dame can beat the champion without having to deal with the pressure that normally comes with a title match. For Zaria, this is about proving Dame’s mind games haven’t worked nearly as well as she thinks they have.

Weapons Wild Match: Tavion Heights vs. Myles Borne

Former tag team partners Tavion Heights and Myles Borne are way past talking things out. The former NXT Tag Team Champions fell apart after Borne attacked Heights on multiple occasions. Heights eventually started fighting back, and their rivalry has only gotten uglier from there.

A normal singles match probably wasn’t going to settle much. Danhausen had four druids spin the Halloween Havoc wheel, and Weapons Wild was the result. That means Borne and Heights now get to use pretty much whatever they can get their hands on while trying to settle a rivalry that started with a friendship and a championship partnership. There shouldn’t be many excuses left once this one is finished.

Shiloh Hill vs. Naraku

Shiloh Hill had to use more than wrestling to deal with Naraku. Naraku cost Hill an opportunity at the NXT North American Championship by spraying him with mist, leaving Hill dealing with the effects afterwards.

Hill eventually turned to his chemistry knowledge to create a cure and get himself cleared to compete again. Now comes the easier part to understand: getting his hands on Naraku. Hill isn’t chasing a championship tonight. He’s trying to deal with the person who took a championship opportunity away from him and temporarily put him out of action.

Danhausen Hosts Halloween Havoc

If there was ever going to be a WWE show built for Danhausen, Halloween Havoc makes a pretty convincing case. Danhausen serves as the host tonight after already getting involved in the Halloween Havoc wheel process leading into the show.

Exactly what else he has planned hasn’t been revealed. Considering he just presented his own “Very Nice, Very Evil SmackDown” one night earlier, Danhausen is basically spending Halloween weekend with control over two WWE shows. That probably isn’t reassuring for anyone on the NXT roster.
