WWE may have just confirmed what everyone was already hearing about Sheamus.

After reports came out that Sheamus is set to leave WWE, the company moved his profile from the active roster to the WWE.com Alumni section. That is a pretty loud move, because WWE usually does not put active talent there unless something has changed.

The word going around is that Sheamus is not being released. His contract expired, and he turned down a new deal. WWE offered him a restructured contract while he was out injured, but Sheamus passed on it.

That makes the Alumni section move even more interesting. WWE has not made some big farewell announcement, but shifting Sheamus out of the active roster section says plenty on its own.

There is still one weird part to all of this. Back in September 2024, Dave Meltzer claimed Sheamus had signed a new five-year deal with WWE. If that was true, Sheamus would not be close to leaving in 2026.

So either that old claim was wrong, the deal was not really for five years, or something changed behind the scenes. Either way, WWE moving Sheamus to Alumni makes the latest exit talk feel a lot more real.

Sheamus has been with WWE for nearly two decades, so this is not some small roster update. He is a former WWE Champion, Royal Rumble winner, King of the Ring winner, Money in the Bank winner, and one of the company’s most recognizable names.

For now, Sheamus’ WWE future looks more uncertain than ever. WWE moving him to the Alumni section may not be a full goodbye speech, but it sure does not look like business as usual.

What do you think is really going on with Sheamus and WWE? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
