Liv Morgan still hasn’t completely gotten rid of that nasty bump on her forehead from RAW. More than four months after smashing heads with Roxanne Perez, she’s still undergoing treatment—and Raquel Rodriguez is hoping surgery doesn’t eventually enter the picture.
While speaking on the Girl Meets Pod podcast, Rodriguez admitted she actually laughed when she first saw Morgan’s swollen forehead. Morgan was standing and appeared okay, and there was some payback involved after Liv had previously laughed when Rodriguez suffered her own “egg” from being pushed into the steps by Nikki Bella.
“In the moment? I, I, you know, because she was okay and she was standing and everything seemed fine. I was kind of laughing inside just because a couple months before I had a match with Stephanie and with Nikki Bella. Nikki Bella pushed me into the steps and I also hit my head and also got a little egg. And that night she was laughing, right? And we took a picture with her pointing and laughing at it. And I was like, ‘Oh, payback,’ right?”
It stopped being funny once the bump refused to go away. Rodriguez said the seriousness of the situation started sinking in as Morgan continued dealing with it long after that night.
“But then to see how serious it was and how it still hasn’t gone away and all those things, like in the moment, I feel like I should have felt a little bit more [concerned]. But you were just so excited that all three of us as the Judgment Day girlies now each had an egg. You know what I mean? I was like, ‘We’re even now.’”
Morgan suffered the injury during the April 6 episode of RAW. Stephanie Vaquer attacked her during an in-ring segment, Morgan was shoved into Perez and the two smashed heads. Both women were subsequently reported to have been placed in concussion protocol. That bump apparently never completely left. When Rodriguez was asked whether Morgan’s forehead had finally returned to normal, she revealed there’s still a small amount of swelling there despite months of treatment.
“Uh, no. Not fully. Like she still has a little tiny bit, but they’ve been doing a lot of therapy and stuff, so it is, it’s coming down, thankfully.”
Rodriguez believes Morgan has been undergoing lymphatic work or cupping to bring the swelling down, although she wasn’t completely certain about the exact treatment. A lidocaine injection has apparently been discussed as well.
“Lymphatic or cupping, I think, is what they’re doing here. Um, I think she talked about getting maybe like a lidocaine shot just to help it as well.”
Then Rodriguez mentioned the possibility nobody wants this thing to reach, as she hopes Morgan doesn’t need surgery.
“Um, hopefully she doesn’t need surgery for something like that, but I just hope it keeps going down. Yeah. It’s been since April. That’s long ago.”
Morgan was joking around and threatening Vaquer with a giant bump on her forehead the day after it happened. Four months later, she’s still treating the same injury; the swelling still isn’t completely gone and surgery is something Rodriguez is hoping she can avoid. That April collision clearly left behind a lot more than one ugly night on RAW.
