Chad Gable has new music, and WWE is apparently hoping fans start singing along instead of complaining about it.

Over the past couple of weeks, Gable has been using a new Def Rebel entrance theme, even after WWE briefly brought back his original theme on the June 8 edition of RAW. Since June 15, the new song has been part of his presentation, and the reaction has been pretty mixed so far.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is hoping the theme song grows on people and becomes something fans chant with live during their weekly shows as well as Premium Live Events.

That is a pretty clear sign WWE is not just testing random music here. They want Gable’s entrance to become part of the act, especially now that he has moved past the El Grande Americano mask and appears to be getting positioned for something bigger.

There is already talk of Gable possibly having a prominent presence at SummerSlam in Minneapolis, which is his hometown. If WWE wants the crowd to help make him feel like a bigger deal, getting his entrance music over would definitely help.

The El Grande Americano run also turned out to be more useful than expected. Fanatics was reportedly surprised by how well the auction for the ring-worn mask performed, and that could lead to more ring-worn merchandise ideas down the line.

So, WWE may be done with the mask, but they are not done trying to squeeze momentum out of Gable’s latest reset. The new music is part of that plan, and now the company just needs fans to actually play along.

What do you think about WWE hoping Chad Gable’s new theme catches on? Do you like the new music, or should WWE bring back his old theme for good? Leave your feedback below.
