Blake Monroe may not have gotten the official main roster debut she wanted on the August 21 edition of SmackDown, but WWE apparently already has another opportunity in mind. After everything that happened in Toronto, Monroe could be getting another chance to finally have that first match.
According to False Finish, sources say Blake Monroe vs. Giulia has been discussed for Saturday Night’s Main Event on September 6. Nothing has been made official yet, but if the match happens, it would serve as Monroe’s official main roster in-ring debut.
That would pick things right back up after their advertised match on SmackDown never actually started. Monroe attacked Giulia during her entrance, sent her into the steel steps and dropped her with The Neutralizer before the opening bell. So despite getting physical, Monroe technically never wrestled her first main roster match. She made sure everyone knew that afterwards.
“That’s not my debut. I didn’t wait four months getting caught up to SmackDown, and I didn’t wait nine years to make it to the WWE to have my debut like that.”
Blake Monroe wasn’t exactly asking WWE to simply run the match back either. She declared herself “World Championship material” and demanded Chelsea Green.
“I’m World Championship material. So you find Chelsea Green, you bring her to me, and then you get the glamour. Until then, get out my face.”
WWE apparently still has Giulia in the picture, though. Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place September 6 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and Monroe vs. Giulia could now be where her main roster career officially begins. Nothing is confirmed yet, but Monroe made a big deal about SmackDown not counting as her debut. WWE may already have another stage in mind for the real thing.
