LA Knight may have a lot more than another big Roman Reigns match waiting for him. WWE kicked around the idea of having Knight actually beat Roman for the World Heavyweight Championship, and there was a storyline reason behind the potential shocker.

While speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed that LA Knight pulling off the upset win over Roman Reigns was one of the ideas discussed.

“The one idea that was bandied about and talked about was LA Knight potentially beating Roman Reigns in a shock title win.”

The idea apparently wasn’t just to put the belt on Knight for the sake of surprising everyone. One version involved Solo Sikoa somehow factoring into Roman’s loss, with the defeat then forcing Reigns into the larger conflict heading toward WarGames.

“One of the ideas that was talked about was it involving Solo and then playing into the WarGames storyline, and that being the catalyst to pull Roman into a storyline that, at the moment, he’s been avoiding.”

That would play directly into Roman’s current attitude. Reigns has essentially been keeping himself above everyone else’s problems, leaving them to fight their own battles while he worries about being the Tribal Chief. Losing his championship because of that conflict would suddenly make it his problem too.

“The whole thing that they’re telling right now is Roman’s basically like, ‘I’m not worried about none of these other guys that you guys are fighting. Like, you guys deal with that. I’m the Tribal Chief.’ This idea would be that him losing tonight would then drag him into the whole big conflict.”

None of that means Knight beating Roman is locked in. Self Made Pro made it clear this was something that had been discussed, but also noted that Knight would be the likely option if WWE decides it wants a surprise title switch.

“Again, that’s been bandied about. So if they are going to do a shock switch, it would probably be with LA Knight.”

The timing makes the discussion especially interesting because Knight has already forced his way into Roman’s championship business. After Reigns retained against Penta on the September 14 RAW in Mexico City, Knight attacked him once the show went off the air and sent the champion retreating up the ramp.

Roman responded with an NSFW warning and told Knight to come get the championship at Money in the Bank. WWE has since made it official, with Reigns defending against Knight on October 10 in New Orleans.

Bottom line: LA Knight has spent weeks making it clear that Roman’s championship is what he wants. WWE has apparently gone far enough with that idea to at least discuss what happens if he actually takes it.

Would LA Knight shocking Roman Reigns be the kind of title change WWE should pull the trigger on, especially if it sends Roman straight into the WarGames story? Sound off in the comments.
