AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 went down at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, where Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland met in the finals of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The winner wasn’t just taking home “The Owen,” but also earning an AEW World Championship match at All In, making it one of the biggest matches on the card.

Both men had plenty to fight for. Ospreay was looking to finally win the tournament after falling short in the 2025 finals, while Swerve had the chance to earn another shot at the AEW World Championship. With two of AEW’s biggest stars meeting in the final, the stage was set for a match worthy of Owen Hart’s legacy.

This match didn’t go down until the end of the entire event. Fans stuck around for the whole show in Boston because nobody wanted to go home without seeing Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland go to war.

This match was the end of a long night for pro wrestling fans, especially if they watched TNA Slammiversary and NXT Great American Bash today as well. Both Ospreay and Strickland fought to gain an upperhand and they didn’t hold back.

This match was a bloody one, with both competitors leaking during the match. In the end, Will Ospreay nailed a Tiger Driver 98, and he won the match in clean fashion. This was a nail-biter of a match, and now we know who will challenge for the title at All In.

The men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament began in 2022 to honor the late Owen Hart and has quickly become one of AEW’s biggest annual traditions. Adam Cole won the inaugural tournament in 2022, Ricky Starks followed in 2023, Bryan Danielson took the trophy in 2024, and “Hangman” Adam Page won in 2025, with every winner leaving their mark on AEW history. All In London will go down on August 30, and now we know that Will Ospreay will get his title match in Wembley Stadium.
