AEW All Out moved away from Labor Day weekend, and now Tony Khan is explaining why the company made that call.
AEW All Out 2026 is set for Saturday, September 26, at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. That puts the Chicago-area pay-per-view later in the month instead of the Labor Day weekend slot fans were used to. Khan said the move comes down to All In becoming a major deal in England and AEW wanting more space before returning to Chicago.
While speaking with Case on Q101, Khan said All Out still needs to feel like one of AEW’s biggest shows of the year, not something crammed too close to another major pay-per-view.
“Well, in this case, I want to make sure that AEW All Out, for the fans in Chicago and all the pay-per-view buyers all over the world, feels like a top premium pay-per-view event, one of the biggest events of the year, and we’ll be coming off AEW All In.”
Khan then pointed to AEW’s success in England as the real reason Labor Day weekend became harder to keep for All Out. The weekend before Labor Day is a bank holiday in England, and AEW has done huge business there.
“Now, the weekend before Labor Day is actually a bank holiday in England, and we’ve had a lot of success running shows there. So much success, in fact, that four out of the top five gates in AEW history all fall on that same weekend, which happens to be the weekend before Labor Day, the bank holiday in England, where we’ll have AEW All In this year.”
That made the old All Out setup a problem. Instead of rushing from All In straight into All Out, AEW decided to give the Chicago show more time to breathe.
“And given that huge success and how well that’s gone for us, I want to make sure that the fans get the best possible experience at All Out. So that means giving four weeks between these pay-per-views to fully build up and have about a month between AEW All In and AEW All Out.”
Khan also made it clear that the date change does not mean All Out is being treated like a smaller event. He still called it one of AEW’s biggest shows.
“So we’re going to have a huge All Out. It’s one of our biggest events of the year. And the fans who’ve been to the All Out shows around Chicago know this pay-per-view has an incredible track record of delivering great results.”
AEW will now run All In at Wembley Stadium in London before shifting focus back to Chicagoland for All Out. Khan said the company plans to bring its best back to the Chicago area.
“And I think we’ll be coming off of an incredible AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in London. And then we’re going to bring the very best of AEW back to Chicagoland. And I can’t wait to see all the fans, see my family, and see you, Case, coming up on September 26th.”
So that is why AEW All Out moved away from Labor Day weekend. All In found a strong home in England, and AEW wants All Out to have a real build instead of getting jammed into the calendar. AEW All Out 2026 is now locked in for September 26 at NOW Arena, and the extra time puts more pressure on AEW to make the Chicago-area show feel worth the move.
