Vince Russo thinks Seth Rollins made one huge mistake during WWE’s chaotic trip home from Mexico. After watching footage of Rollins and Becky Lynch getting swarmed at the airport, Russo couldn’t believe Rollins appeared to leave his wife behind.
The footage from WWE’s trip home from Mexico has already led to plenty of discussion online. Fans watched Rollins and Becky Lynch get swarmed at the airport before Rollins hurried through the terminal while Becky found herself trapped in the middle of an increasingly aggressive crowd until security stepped in. Russo saw the same clip—and immediately zeroed in on Rollins.
While speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, the former WWE head writer said he couldn’t believe Seth Rollins appeared to leave Becky Lynch behind while trying to escape the crowd himself.
“So Coach, this is Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch being bombarded by fans at the Mexico airport. Freaking Rollins takes off, leaving his wife behind to get mobbed! Can you imagine if I would’ve taken off and fed my wife to the crocs? She would’ve killed me.”
Vince Russo wasn’t interested in giving Seth Rollins the benefit of the doubt. Watching the video, he said the solution seemed obvious; he should have grabbed Becky Lynch by the arm and taken off with her.
“Look, he’s booking it. He leaves her behind! Are you kidding me, bro? Seriously? What is the benefit of the doubt here? Can you not grab your wife by the arm and take off with her?”
For Russo, this went beyond wrestling or celebrity. He argued that when you’re in another country and a crowd starts closing in, your first instinct should be getting both of you out together. Russo doubled down, saying Becky being able to handle herself wasn’t really the point.
“Absolutely scary, especially when you are in a different country. You don’t know who has a weapon. Can we not grab her by the wrist and take her with you? Seth, seriously, bro, grab her by the arm and drag her with you. Don’t leave her behind! Don’t get me wrong, I know Becky Lynch is a tough, tough female. She can fend for herself. I’m not saying she’s a delicate flower. But seriously, bro, can you not roll your bag in one hand and grab her with the other?”
The footage itself only shows a few seconds of what happened inside the airport, so it doesn’t provide the full context of how Rollins and Lynch navigated the situation before or after the clip. That hasn’t stopped it from becoming one of the more talked-about moments to come out of WWE’s week in Mexico, and Russo clearly came away feeling Rollins handled it all wrong.
