Lil Yachty might be doing more than just walking to the ring with Trick Williams.
After spending months alongside the United States Champion on WWE television, the rapper could soon be stepping between the ropes himself—at least if Trick Williams has his way.
Speaking during WWE Now at Fanatics Fest, Williams revealed that he expects to team with Yachty in tag team matches in the future, saying the rapper has fully committed to becoming part of WWE instead of simply making celebrity appearances. According to Trick, Yachty has earned every opportunity he’s been given because he’s putting in the work behind the scenes.
“Yachty has earned every second of screen time he gets because he is committed to the game. He loves the WWE Universe as much as everyone out here. On top of that, Yachty is my friend, so I get to talk trash every single week with my friend.”
Williams said Yachty’s commitment goes far beyond showing up on television. Instead, he says the rapper wants the full WWE experience—from live events to international tours—and has made it clear he wants to be involved as much as possible.
“He loves the business, and he said, ‘I wanna be at everything. I wanna be at the house shows, traveling across the world. I wanna be part of the WWE Universe.'”
That’s why Trick believes fans shouldn’t be surprised if they eventually see the two of them sharing the ring as partners. In fact, he suggested it’s something they’re already working toward.
“Probably gonna have some tag matches sometime soon, or something like that. I mean, he’s training. He’s at the gym all the time, so we’re gonna make sure that happens.”
The update builds on what Williams revealed earlier about how the partnership first came together. According to Trick, Yachty never wanted to be just another celebrity making a one-night appearance. Instead, he pushed for an actual storyline and has continued training while becoming a regular part of Williams’ presentation.
Now it sounds like the next step could be even bigger. If Yachty continues progressing in training, WWE may eventually let the rapper back up his friendship with Trick Williams inside the ring instead of just at ringside.
